We visit family in New Hampshire about 10 times a year and Bradford is about 10 minutes away. For the past ten years we've had a very hard time finding the right mix of great food at a great price and last year we decided to try this restaurant and have been in LOVE with it ever since. We make it a point to visit this restaurant each time we are in town since the food is outstanding each and every time. We have yet to be disappointed and the price is great too. We travel quite a bit and Colatina Exit is a hidden treasure serving five star food in the great little town of Bradford :)
A LETTER SENT TO COLATINA, NEVER RECEIVED REPLY
This afternoon, after doing a little shopping, myself, my mother, my daughter and my niece stopped by to pick up lunch to go.
My mom ordered hers first and paid. I then ordered two subs, steak and cheese and a sausage/pepper sub, the girls had your slice deal with a drink. It took nearly 15 minutes for the pizza slices. Then my mother got her sub, five minutes later. It was nearly 1pm, mind you, we arrived at 12:25pm.
I finally went up and said, are my subs ready, if not I want my money back, since I needed to go to work. The girl came back and said two more minutes. It was 8 more minutes.
It was clear to me and my family that no one had ever made them. The subs were pipping hot, obviously just taken off the grill. No one apologized, no one offered a drink on the house, nothing. We we're less than impressed. When I started eating the steak and cheese sub it had clearly sat on the grill way to long, it was like chewing rubber. Awful.
I've lived up here my entire life and have often come to the Colatina. My family and I have always received great service, great food and a pleasant experience. I'm not really sure I will return. Very disappointing. I only write this so you know what happened today. One can only improve if they know what went wrong.
The Colatina Exit has very good Italian food and a great selection of fine wines. The only honest comment I could make is that they are over priced for what they offer on the menu, including there pizza.
From the beginning, the experiece was wonderful. The staff was polite while being very busy. The candlel lite atmosphere was wonderfully romantic, with a wonderful view of the wood fired oven. The special sheet is ever changing and always new when we go in. The food is fantastic. From the starters to the main course, and wide selection of pizza choices, you should be able to find just what you are looking for.
The selection is great but the end product leaves a lot to be desired. This use to be worth a 50 mile for just a pizza but I have returned three times to try it and left feeling cheated. And don't ever have a party there. We suffered nothing but embarrasment. Poor service and we who paid got a lecture about the shortage of staff. They certainly accepted our money but forgot to put on extra staff.
