Loved It
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/4/07
We stayed at Wonderview Cottages in Belfast, where we had a great time, and asked for a recommendation. The owner suggested Anglers, so we headed up to Searsport in the rain. My wife's lobster was proclaimed to be the best she's eaten, and my scallops were certainly the juiciest and most tender I've eaten. We liked it so much we stopped in three nights later on our trip south. Wonderful food, friendly staff, great value. Would definitely eat there again when in the area.

The only TRUE seafood restaurant I know of around here. They have a complete seafood menu and a medley of flavor that is sure to please even the fussiest pallet :)

Great Place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/4/06
Not fancy but plenty of great food at a good price. Of course the seafood is great and I never seem to get past that to try the beef, but have heard that is good also.

Best on the Way to Bar Harbor
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/17/06
A small restaurant right before Lights Motel. About for years ago we looked for a place to stay overnight and we choosed Lights Motel. At that time it was cheap and ok for one night (not so last year, beds were terrible and the bath got a lot of mold especially the shower; one of our worst night in Maine. But what we smell was a fantastic and delicious aroma of fish. So we decide to go to Anglers Restaurant for dinner. The ordered shrimps platter was great. A plate full of jumbo shrimps and that taste delicious and fresh, all worth for the money. Although the furniture wasn

Angler's In Newport (not the one in searsport)
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/13/06
Wow what a dinner i had here...first of all let me say that I was with my sister and whenever we are at a place that has spicy buffalo chicken strips we always get them, so of course we ordered them. We nearly cried just trying to swallow them down...not because they were bad but because these were the hottest buffalo strips ever...don't get me wrong they are good but we just couldn't handle them...and we thought we were experts at putting these down anywhere. I was some glad i had some coleslaw to go with it because i had to eat that up just as fast as I could to get the burn in my throat to go away. I drank a whole root beer float in like 1 minute. I also ordered the citrus chicken, I thought that was ok but could use some more citrus. The chicken was good perfect, nice and juicy not to flaky but the citrus seemed to be just seasoning and i thought maybe some citrus juice woulda been a nice touch to it. Overall I would say that this place is good and I would go agian, I mean I didnt even try the place's main food which is seafood, so you can't really takemy my word for, just try it yourself sometime. They also had desserts to.... :-)

Exceeds all expectations!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/6/05
Fish & chips....REAL chips, delicate, flavorful fish wrapped in a tasty coating that compliments, not overtakes. Sweet Mussels steamed tender, and a whole lot more choices from the sea prepared to bring out their best flavor!! The servers take their cue from you... quiet or chatty, but always pleasant, helpful, prompt and attentive. Try the bread pudding, one of the many great desserts. The owner chips right in and may be the one seating you, when they are busy. A must try whether you are passing through, or visiting the areas attractions. We love it and the quality is consistant!

Best Fried Clams I ever had! The fish and clam chowdah are soooo good! The service was attentive and friendly and surroundings comfortable and clean. Best restaurant I've been to on the Maine Coast for fried seafood!!

where people who are in the know eat
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/20/05
This is the place where people who are in the know in this area come to have chowder or fish n chips and whatnot. The food is terrific, the staff very nice. Does tend to get a bit crowded though
