Have to say we were very disappointed in a recent visit to the Whale's Tooth Pub. We were seated in a cozy little spot, rather romantic, music in the background. Just what we were looking forward to, a quiet evening out together over a good meal. We had waited quite awhile to be waited on, and longer still for the waitress to bring the wine. We sat chatting, listening to the music. The wine now long finished and we were still waiting for the meal when the hostess stopped by our table and asked if we could move to a nearby booth. She needed to accomodate an elderly lady. This seemed to be a very odd request, we had been seated for nearly an hour and were now being asked to move. Once we were relocated 2 couples (not an elderly lady in the group) were seated where we had been. How rude. It won't happen again.

Fantastic!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/11/07
I am a regular customer of The Whale's Tooth Pub. It is an incredible place where locals and tourists enjoy the warm ambiance and the huge fireplace with 4 foot logs. I go to this restaurant at least once or twice a month. The menu has a great selection, everything is on it. Lobsters, Seafood, Prime Rib, and the Special Steaks. They are my favorite. Then the twice baked potato is to die for. Portions are huge, always something left for lunch. The owner is a friendly person who always recognizes her customers, she usually has a pleasant word for each table. The service is great, the waitstaff is mature and knowlegeable. It is fun to sit at the bar and talk with Mike the bartender, he is the best around. In the summer you can sit outside on the decks and enjoy a fantastic view of the ocean. Try it, you'll like it.

Undeniably the best restaurant in the area. We love the fireplace and the unbelievable food. We ate 3 of our 4 meals there during our trip and we'll be back next time we're in town.

Midcoast's Best Value

Great menu with a dozen extra daily specials. Same with desserts- unreal. Been there 12 times- service is professional, prompt, and consistent. Owner takes personal interest in every table. Pub like on one side, dining room with view of ocean on the other. Outside dining nice too. Food is excellent: creative, plentiful, much to choose. Prices are very reasonable- always seem to bring some home with me, too.
