The service was terrible and very inexperienced. No one over 18 working in the place and they weren't trained. The waitress got us our drinks pretty quickly, but she brought no bread-everyone else had some. By the time I noticed this, our meal was there-almost too fast. My salad arrived the same time as my meal, which I hate. We ordered lazy man lobsters. I should have been suspicious when they didn't state the size of the lobster they use. They used the smallest one possible. They were soft shell because the claws were tiny. It arrived in a small casserole dish floating in butter. It looked ridiculous. Tiny pieces lost in a big dish. It took us 5 minutes to eat it, and it was a smaller amount of lobster meat than any of the lobster rolls we ate while on vacation.
It tasted OK, and it wasn't old or anything, but it was also priced higher than any other lobster entrees we ordered in the Rockland, Camden area- 26.95. My baked potato was crunchy & not hot, no butter, and the salad had a little dirt in it. A total waste of money. I wish I had complained on the spot, but I hate to make a scene. (my boyfriend dislikes makng a scene even more) Don't be fooled by guide books because they reccommend it!
I took a group of 10 friends of all ages out to lunch at The Landings Restaurant in early September 2013. It is under new ownership and the food and service were both excellent! We tried a variety of dishes from hamburgers to Lobster & Seafood dishes. The view of the harbor is excellent as well and they even gave us complimentary guest blankets to use since we insisted on eating out on the deck and there was a cool breeze that day. I will definitely be taking other friends there in the future!
