Really wonderful lunch. I had crab quiche and a fresh salad. There was NO iceburg lettuce in the salad which is good to my way of thinking. The quiche was delicisous. Wonderful homemade dressings (I had maple dijon). I can't remember what my husband ate but it was wonderful as well. We'll be going back!
A great night to say the least, My partner and I have been going for almost a year now. Both of us have always enjoyed an authentic real pizza. Keep up the great work! A dinner for two, a gourmet pizza, salads and wine for under 25 dollars. Sincerely
A fabulous restaurant to say the least, I work as a paralegal in the Bangor area and travel often throughout Aroostook county. Last week while attending a function downtown, A friend of mine suggested the Courtyard Cafe. A tad hesitant to say the least after having been out to another restaurant downtown, the food was mediocre and the service was atrocious. I did however agree and give him one more chance before I envoked a Mc. Donalds act. When we arrived I have to say that the atmosphere was a much more appropriate one for the casual meeting.I ordered a bowl of Papa Carciofi Soup an authentic Italian soup made in the Tuscany region of the country, The fact that there menu was more then Chicken Noodle sold me right there. Prior to this find I had assumed that any sort of well made Italian Soups or homemade rolls ended North of a line from Baldacci's. All in all a great experience, and I am looking forward to another visit very soon!
While vacationing in Maine; with my wife and her parents. We stumbled upon what can only be described as a Diamond in the rough. We were exploring the county seat of Aroostook. We were enjoying our annual family reunion. While looking for a place to have dinner in Houlton a local inn-keeper suggested a great meal at the Courtyard Cafe.
We were pleasantly suprised to find a real meal that was suitable for even the most discerning palate. Not only was the presentation beautiful, but the tastes surpassed any expectations we had for the area. For example; we all ordered seafood dishes and everything was so fresh, the Bourbon Glazed Salmon Filet was cooked to perfection and the sauce was to die for, as well the Seafood casserole was delightful baked in butter, garlic and Ritz crackers.
In addition all the meals were complemented with sides that made for an exceptional value, by the way what a wonderful salad served with homemade dressing. As we waited for our meal we enjoyed cocktails while viewing an exquisite local artshow that truly captured the county's culture. Overall a truly memorable experience and we can't wait to go back.
