A 5 star that unfortunately closed in early 2011. Food was excellent, varied, high end Italian with variations into other cuisines. The two chefs not only did everything in-house, but also made a variety of dishs rarely seen in the area-such as sorbets of an incredible variety. They were also able to offer gluten-free, vegan/vegetarian Italian meals, including non-gluten parmigiana! A classic which lamentably did not survive.

Old world authentic food! One of the best meatballs I have ever eaten. The veal saltembuca was full of flavor and substantial in size. The gravy is just right...not to sweet or to tart. Seafood bowl was abudanza...choker block full of every kind of seafood you can think of fish,clams,mussels,squid,crab and lobster...enough for two! Mark Antony's is the best Italian restaurant...in Maine! Rates right up there with most of the Italian restaurants in Boston(where I grew up), New York or Philly! There is only one thing WRONG with this restaruant...it ain't open enough!!!!
