This restaurant was recently sold and the new owners have not only let the place go downhill but they are dishonest. My 80-year old father and I each ordered a bowl of fish chowder, what had been the Waco's signature dish. Except this time it was watery and there was no salt or pepper on the table. Worse, after I left my father he was presented with a bill for 27 dollars (he'd had a cup of coffee while I'd had ice tea). Then when he paid with two 20s, the waitress insisted he'd given her a 20 and a 10 when she returned with his change. Thought they could take advantage of an old man. We will not go there again under the current ownership. This is sad because the Waco was an Eastport dining institution for many years.

My husband and I went to the WaCo twice recently, once for lunch and another time for dinner. Both times were a good experience. For lunch, we sat on the back deck overlooking the water - what a gorgeous view! For dinner, it was after dark, so we sat near the pub. Each time, the wait staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back!
