no words to describe how awesome this place is. the food was perfect from live lobsters to the wood fired hand made pizzas. the staff is really cool and the bar tenders are great to joke around with. if you come to bar harbor dont pass up geddy's.
This is a great restaurant! We had a great experience here!!! The band was great!!!! So was the food! But of course the most amazing thing was the free necklaces, mints, and frisbee!!!!!!!!!! Everything on the kids' menu comes with a free frisbee!!! The nachos were awesome too!!! They came in a hubcap! We loved the decorations and all the funny signs to read!!!! We had a great time!!!! This would be a great place if you are a messy eater. You can get all the napkins you need!!! The tables comes with a roll of paper towels!!! Another fun part about this amazing atmosphere was the fun place mats you can color!!! If you are looking for a great place to eat and have fun, this restaurant is definately recommended!!!
the food and decoration of this place remind me of apple bee's. as a person from nyc, at first i didn't want to step into a restuaurant that looked like an apple bee's, but since this restaurant's #2 ranked in town, i thought i'd give it a shot.
nothing to me was special about this place.
Geddy's Pub, near the waterfront of Bar Harbor, Maine might be one of the most unique dining experiences you could ever have. A mixture of guests arrive nightly by limosine and lobster boat, but no matter how ecclectic or eccentric the patrons may be, it is the establishment itself that captures your attention. Thousands of kitchy relics hang from every available space on the walls and celing of this one of a kind restaurant. Street signs, photographs, automobile tags, mooseheads, canoes, Elvis, and more capture your eye in every direction you turn. A centrally located (and well stocked) bar is covered in even more kitch. Speaking of the bar, I encourage you to order any number of their fantastic frozen drinks, as they are served in a fish bowl sized glass, complete with plastic animals floating in them. The menu ranges from great steaks to hot dogs, and no shortage of seafood. Pay special attention to the fish and chips, as I once ate their with a woman from the Northeast of England, and she swore it tasted just like home. Pizza is top notch, as is their (HUGE) nachos appetizer. Come hungry, leave happy, and don't forget to stop downstairs to see one of Maine's tackiest gift stores. If you're really nice, maybe they'll show you the old speakeasy room (great place for a private party). Bring the kids during the day, but it is a working pub at night, so by then bring 'em at your own risk, they might end up learning a whole lot more about the birds and the bees than you may feel they're ready for.
We stopped in here to grab some food before our boat cruise. I had the Hawaiian burger (teryiaki, pineapple salsa, and swiss cheese) and my husband had the pizza burger. The burgers were awesome...and the french fries were really good too! To complete the experience, our server was very nice and the food arrived really fast. If I make it back to Bar Harbor (and I hope I do), I will be visiting Geddy's again.
For our first trip to Bar Harbor a friend had recommend Geddy's for a good meal, and they couldn't have done better by us. The service was wonderful, the surroundings fun, and the food was incredible. The pizza was as good as it gets, as were the nachos and local beer. I decided to try the fajitas to satiate my craving, and they were quite possibly the best I've had (at least on the east coast).
Friendly staff and good food. My calamari appetizer was perfect. Husband had the pizzaburger which got a thumbs up. Wood fired pizza was also a big hit. Fish dinner was tasty but had way too many french fries. Onion rings were very good and the order was huge. Good experience.
Awesome food! My sister had a spinach salad with pan seared scallops while I enjoyed a caesar salad with pan seared scallops. The salads were huge and were very tasty. Service was average, but the food made up for it. We will definitely return if we return to Bar Harbor.
