Good Food at a Fair Price
I am a yearly visitor to Bar Harbor and have eaten at the West St. Cafe a few times. Each time I had a good meal. That said --I must state my distain for boiled lobster(that is the way it usually served up in Maine). I had the lobster at the West St. Cafe the first year I visited in 2001 --and it was just o.k. (only my opinion)--others seemed to be ordering it and enjoying it. However, I've had their clam chowder which is delicious. Also, their scallops are wonderful-- sweet and tender in all their buttery glory. The blueberry pie was o.k., too.In all, The West St. Cafe is a nice little place to eat. You can usually get a table without too much waiting --and it is right on the waterfront so you can walk off your dinner down at the shore line. Their prices are in line with other moderate places in town--maybe a little less than some.
