Visited this establishment yesterday which was Easter Sunday. It was packed and extremely busy, including the staff who were rude, and difficult to navigate in order to access the actual buffet itself. Lot's of calling out and shouting in the buffet area. We were amazed that there was not one bean curd dish in the entire buffet area. The Bok Choy and a few other dishes were cold. The serving spoons and tongs in the buffet dishes were unpleasantly sticky and really should have been replaced every hour or so. We won't be returning.
The price isn't bad, neither is the food. The service however isn't the best! The last time I went with my children, the service was horrible. We didn't get refills for our drinks, nor were we asked, and the server came to our table a few times to get our plates! They don't have a problem watching you while you eat though. If you want chinese food, I would not recommend going here!
I Loved that place only gone a few times but never have been disappointed. Service was good. a little slow but nothing to major. Food Was outstanding. never had lukewarm anything. Deserts on Sundays were very good aswell. Prices are a little high but they can definitely get away with it. Sushi Is Off The CHARTS.
Terrible Service. Last time I went June 08 I sat there with 3 empty plates on the table and no drink refill the entire time while the waitress sat and talked to some Chinese guests. The cashiers are rushed and rude and make you feel like an idiot if you don't practically have exact change ready when you approach the counter. This place is awful.
twice i have gone to eat here, with my wife. The food is great, and the setting is decent enough.
However, after just about ten minutes in the eatery, we noticed some of the employees gazing over at us, with impatient eyes. We both notices this and were turned off by it.
We braved a second visit, though...only to our great displeasure. More good food, and eyes watching us after sitting down for 10 minutes.
It seems that the employees want you to come in, eat fast, and leave them good tips for the drink that they bring you.
This place may have potential, but it is overshadowed by the lack of hospitality and rudeness of the employees...
The best place to find Chinese food in Portland that is decently priced for what you are getting, is this place! The quality is very good, but still not as authentic as I would like. This is however the closest you are going to come to real chinese food. I love it because I get some authenticity in the food, along with my sushi which is only served in the evening and my crab legs which also are only served in the evening. There is a total variety of different dishes to try. Definately check this place out, I go there every chance I get!
Chinese food for the most part is a disappointment in Portland -heavily sauced and bland. The Great Wall buffet uses fresh, top quality ingredients and is the best bargain around. It is amazing that they can turn out such quality food at such low prices.
