Jan Mee Buffet, Portland

Jan Mee does some really fine work. Their food is reliably good, and the service is much better than average. It's pretty much your typical American-style Chinese Restaurant: they have a pupu platter and such, and more than likely you can order a Volcano Bowl (although, since we usually go there for the lunch menu, we usually steer clear of the cool drink list). The restaurant itself is kind of weird-looking, but not in a bad way. Either the lights themselves are pink, or they're reflecting off the pink walls, but it's pretty well flattering lighting. There's also a gigantic blue light-up picture of a city across the back wall, and the placemats are the good kind that have the Chinese Zodiac on them (if it's called that). I'm a snake by the way, with dragon tendencies.
