I have been ordering delivery and eating at Jan Mee for nearly ten years.
I have never received a bad meal. The egg rolls are very good the shrimp Lo Mein is very good also (fresh local shrimp) always tasting authentic.
Nice and courteous service and I have brought my family there to dine also and they like the restaurant too. It can get busy around the dinner hours yet the food quality is always consistent and apart from a few other employees the phone is usually answered by the friendly owner.
You can trust the food here and the service also (any poor service is surely an isolated incident).
This place stinks! Chow is very inconsistent, they're forever mixing up orders and we bring home half of someone else's order most of the time! If they want to stay in business, they should learn how to READ! They always mix it up and forget something. We stopped going there LONG AGO! IT STINKS!
Service is really bad. One woman in particular was very rude. We overheard her making rude comments about us and we were very polite with her. It's just that our order was complex and she was busy. She kept rushing us off the phone and we had to keep calling back. She didn't even ask us for payment information! We're worried about her spitting in our food now.
Jan Mee does some really fine work. Their food is reliably good, and the service is much better than average. It's pretty much your typical American-style Chinese Restaurant: they have a pupu platter and such, and more than likely you can order a Volcano Bowl (although, since we usually go there for the lunch menu, we usually steer clear of the cool drink list).
The restaurant itself is kind of weird-looking, but not in a bad way. Either the lights themselves are pink, or they're reflecting off the pink walls, but it's pretty well flattering lighting. There's also a gigantic blue light-up picture of a city across the back wall, and the placemats are the good kind that have the Chinese Zodiac on them (if it's called that). I'm a snake by the way, with dragon tendencies.
