the food was good. the appetizer's were awesome!! the dinners were kind of too fancy for what i was expecting and what i was used to. i guess its more authentic and i was just used to the generic stuff.
The outside looks like an unpretentious little restaurant next to the IRS of all things and in a small strip mall, but inside the food is exceptional. No matter what you choose, the vegetables are always crisp - the meats are flavorful and tender and if you order one of the house specialties which come with your choice of wonton or hot and sour soup and of course the traditional white or uncommon brown rice (not fried rice) and you have more than enough food for a doggy bag. Try their Hawaii Five O or their Seafood Nest or a Sizzling Wor Ba. The wait staff is friendly and efficient. The food is spectacular and the presentation is more than a cut above your usual chinese restaurant with edible 'flowers' decorating the platter. Expect to spend at least an hour eating or longer. They don't rush you out of there either. In the end of the meal, the waiter brings you the usual fortune cookies but also pineapple chunks which is of course unique for a chinese restaurant in this area. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants gourmetish chinese food. For drinkers, their alcoholic drinks such as their Pina Coladas is also very good.
There's a reason this place is voted best in Portland year after year. Easily the BEST chinese in the state. Their General Tsao's Chicken is fabulous. Very fast and efficient! Quick takeout even if you don't order it ahead.
