Shaws Ridge Farm BBQ Barn, Sanford

THE best ice cream in Sanford, hands down! Very relaxed place to visit with benches and picnic tables. Laid back country atmosphere. They also now have mini golf - nice place! I hear the BBQ restaurant is really good but haven't tried it. Stopped in for a take-out menu... smelled awesome! Hope to try it soon.

When visiting Sanford each summer, we always make a trip out to Shaw's Ridge for the rich ice cream. Great flavors! You can eat it inside or go outside to the picnic tables. The grounds are beautifully planted and there are umbrella tables. A play area for the kids includes a playhouse. Shaw's has added BBQ and sandwich menu in what used to be the dairy's barn. Good food, cute pig cartoons on the walls and some of the dairy's history is featured in one room (old sleigh that delivered milk in the 1930s). There's also a bakery, but I've not sampled that.
