NO sales etiquette from Concept Store

I bought a crystal decanter as a Christmas present. Being new at buying crystal I never checked that the decanter had no defects. The lady who took it off display asked if she could gift wrap it and wrapped the decanter lid in all its boxes and tissue paper. On Christmas morning my boyfriend opened the present and he knows crystal then noticed a very tiny chip in the decanter lid that you would normally not notice with the eye unless you know crystal. We had been away on holiday from the 26th and could not return it within the 7day period as we only returned on 4January.
I contacted the shop on the 10th and the lady said sorry we after the return policy and will discuss it with the manager. The manager then made it out as if I broke the lid and will not replace it and said I checked it with her. I can’t believe she is such a liar, trying to make me the liar and I don’t belief she deserve to have a shop and have no sales etiquette.
Sad thing is I was planning to buy a tray from them as well and cristal glasses well they won't see me again
