Arundel Wharf Restaurant, Kennebunkport

Apparently one waitress, not our own server, was overly concerned that we were going to walk out on our tab. When my husband stood to leave with our restless children, she asked if he had already paid our server, I was already waiting on my change. After paying in cash and exiting the restaurant, same waitress chased me outside and accused me of taking the signed charge slip (CASH = no charge slip). Never been treated so poorly and with so much disrespect at an establishment that is supposed to be full of class.

My family has been going to Maine for years and often go down to Kennebunkport for dinners. We have often frequented Arundel Wharf for its food and service. My wife's sister was staying with us for a day and we thought it would be nice to take her to Arundel for dinner that night. We sat out on the deck watching the boats and ordered our meals. The service and scenery was great as usual. However, the meals were totally subpar. My wife's and sister-in-law's tuna($17.95) and swordfish($19.25) were overcooked - dry as could be! And my small-portioned baked stuffed haddock($18.95)was dry with very little newburg sauce. Needless to say, with the high prices they're asking, I think we can do much better at other establishments.

Sat,Oct 16,2010 Visiting from Indiana, we decided to give this establishment a try for lunch. The service was terrible and the fare just so-so. When asking for a refill on soft drinks we found out that we would be charged for additional refills. Being from the beverage industry, I was shocked that we wouldn't get free refills considering the charge for those drinks was $1.50 each. For the record, the cost for a 20 ounce drink, with ice in a paper cup costs about .20 - .30 cents, and these folks serve them in 12 ounce glasses, not paper, filled with ice. The only thing I felt good about this experience, was the view of the boats docked just outside the window from our table. I would not recommend this dining experience to anyone unless they are willing to part with their hard earned cash for inferior service and over priced cuisine.

Wine on the deck on the adirondack chairs while waiting for dinner! Who needs dinner! Life doesn't get ANY better than this!! Perfect for outdoor, semi-outdoor & indoor dining! Can't wait to return!

Tried to have lunch here and while waiting for a table sat at the bar. The bartender did not want to serve us drinks because he was not familiar with an Ohio driver license and asked us for two ID's with photos. We were coming from the beach and of course didn't carry our passport with us, that's what he asked for. We looked over 21! Its a good thing that they are careful and check ID's but it is their responsibility to be familiar with all states' IDs since this is a tourist destination! The bartender was rude and the manager simply did not care. We did not stay for lunch and went to another restaurant; there are plenty out there. Do not go to this place!
