Dr. Kosta M. Arger and Rich Martucci got together to start this wine business. Today, the vineyards produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and are sold under the Arger-Martucci brand name. That's not all—they also sell fruits from their vineyards to other respected Napa Valley wine makers.
Katarena was the perfect hostess - a lovely day, picturesque location, fine wines and cheeses. My wife Carola and I toured California on our honeymoon. We especially enjoyed the Viognier and the Odyssey; the Sauvignee Sauvage was a delicious Rose. We will reorder some of each soon. (My wife's daughter-in-law fell in love with the Viognier - said it took her breath away - we have to agree.
We would heartily recommend the winery (and the wines, of course) to all visitors; we certainly felt it was a highlight of our trip. Ken
It was warm and friendly. Katia was our wine tasting host, and we had a great time chatting with her, and discussing wine, how she grew up making wine with her father, and our experiences as innkeepers (Honeywood Inn Stowe Vermont)in a small town. How her father decided to become a winemaker on a commercial scale, why we left the corporate world to be Bed and Breakfast owners. She found us a place to stay for the night, and suggested where to have dinner. All in all it was one of the best experiences we have had, my family lives in California, so we travel there every couple of years, and go wine tasting. Most wineries have paid staff for the tasting, and so the guest does not have the same experience. I hope Katia finally made it to Law school.
