Known for its extraordinary Italian cuisine, this family friendly restaurant serves specialties such as flavorful bail focaccia sandwiches, exotic portabella salads, and pasta carbonara and manicotti. They are open daily for lunch and dinner.
MMMh Good. The food was excellent. Very flavorful in your mouth type food. The Goat cheese raviloi is to die for. Great service. Loved the homemade bread served through out the meal. The mirrors on the wall make the resturant seem bigger than it is, but there is a cozy feel about it once you are seated. Can't wait to try some more of their elegant dishes. Kodos to the chefs.
I'm a local and while there are several restaurants I especially like in Brunswick, this particular one is my favorite.
Somes like these days so many nice restaurants are so pretentious and so overpriced. They give their entrees ridiculous names and even more ridiculous prices and make eating out not so much fun.
I love that The Great Impasta doesn't take itself too seriously. They just concentrate on making good food at reasonable prices.
I'm surprised by the reviewer who felt rushed. Most times that I've eaten here the restaurant has been packed with folks waiting for tables, and despite that I've never felt the least bit rushed.
Definitely a great place to eat. The food here is truly good. Comparable to Olive Garden. The meals might not look very big but you DO NOT LEAVE HUNGRY! I am not surprised this restaurant was so busy when we went. I actually thought the food was better than Olive Garden's food. Real italian, not your frozen junk!
I grew up in that area and then I moved to Philadelphia. However my Mom stills lives there (and she loves it) and I have eaten in the Great Impasta. It has excellent food and at a great price, and it is packed. 5 stars for a small, local restaurant.
One of Brunswick's best kept secrets. I am a native of Brunswick so I can tell you that this is my favorite restaurant in the area. The portions are just right, the ambience is superb, and the food is indescribable. Just wait until you try their garlic knots! I highly reccommend it to guests of our little town as well as to locals!
Absolutely fantastic service, and then...the food....EXCEEDS the service! On a Friday evening, all 16 booths and tables filled within a half hour. No one, not even single patrons, felt any pressure to leave until they were ready to do so, despite a line of more patrons waiting. Food- absolutely fantastic! Excellent taste and flavor, just right portions for the prices. Seemingly out of place in Maine, but what a wonderful find. I would drive 2 1/2 hours (again) just to eat here.
