San Martino church has a Latin cross layout and is dedicated to the saint who tore his cloak in two and offered up half to a poor man. The church was already famous at the start of the 8th century while the rest of Europe was attempting to emerge from the Dark Ages. The church has of course been renovated and restored on several occasions so that the interior now dates back to the mid-16th century. The façade is by Giovanni Fontana.
