More »Trieste Exhibition Center is one of the oldest in Italy. It was built in 1948 and was the first concrete evidence of the wish to reconstruct the city contested during the territorial conflicts after World War II. The hope for an economic upturn for this region reduced first by the Nazis and then by Slav Communism found an expression in the international fair that has ever since been a fixed event in the Trieste calendar and which is attended by dozens of countries from all over the world. Fiera di Trieste, a complex on the edge of the city, close to the horse racing course, equipped with meeting rooms and huge display areas, hosts a number of exhibitions each year, mostly of inter-regional interest, but not only. For example, there are exhibitions concerning boating, port facilities, sport, science and tourism that follow one another throughout the year.
