Gastroquet (Le), Paris

This place should have a few Michelin Stars! Been there twice, a year apart, and was delighted both times. It is now on my must do list each time in Paris. It is relatively small, but do not let the size mislead you. The Owner/Chef trained at Cordon Blue, and the food is a mouth watering orgasm of delight. Expensive, but anything in Paris that is this good is 3X the price! Wines are pricey - it's worth bring your own & paying the corkage charge. They will not open your bottle if it is on THEIR wine list, so call first. Reservations are recommended & suggested!

We had the best time in this clean, quiet and friendly restaurant, owned by the nicest couple you could ever meet. They treated us like family when they discovered we were celebrating our 30th anniversary and the chef came out and took pictures with us and his wife served us cookies with candles and champagne. The presentation of the dishes was beautiful and the food excellent! Service couldn't have been better and the waiter was most gracious and helpful with the menu and specials. What a great experience in a neighborhood off the tourest track! Our highest recommendation for a great meal in a superior atmosphere!!
