Cremaillere 1900 (La)
Enter the room decorated in the 19th century style, and when you do, you will taste traditional cuisine par excellence. There is a pianist, who will enlighten and enliven every evening with music. An atmosphere of musicals, river side cafes and cabarets will make your stop at this restaurant unforgettable and relaxing. And if it is a cold, rainy day, then the inner garden can be covered and heated for a cozy and warm evening.
We visited La Cremaillere on our last night in Paris hoping to end our mini-holiday 'on a high note'. The high note of the evening was the pianist who was fantastic and entertained us throughout our meal.
Although our meal was good, a number of finishing touches were missing. The house red wine was served cold and the Soupe de Poisson was served without croutons, rouille or cheese. It seemed as though the restaurant was catering for tourists 'who knew no better and would not return'.
These small things 'took the edge off' what we had hoped would be a splendid end to our Paris visit.

You won't be dissapointed with ambiance that sets the tone for a night of romantic, elegant dining and food that is worth every cent. You feel like you have gone back in time to a period like that of the moulin rouge cabaret days. No trip to Paris is complete if you don't visit the La Cremaillere.
