Cremaillere 1900 (La), Paris

We visited La Cremaillere on our last night in Paris hoping to end our mini-holiday 'on a high note'. The high note of the evening was the pianist who was fantastic and entertained us throughout our meal. Although our meal was good, a number of finishing touches were missing. The house red wine was served cold and the Soupe de Poisson was served without croutons, rouille or cheese. It seemed as though the restaurant was catering for tourists 'who knew no better and would not return'. These small things 'took the edge off' what we had hoped would be a splendid end to our Paris visit.
