What a BIG disappointment
I went with 3 friends for Sunday Brunch at Findi... The place was as lovely as the pictures on the website, yet we were greeted by absolute darkness : they were having electricity problems, but assured us that they were still serving fine.
We had arrived at 13h, and by 13h40, no one had yet taken our order. We hailed three different servers before one finally came and took our order, and when we asked for a candle for our table, he rudely replied that there weren't enough candles for everyone.
By 14h10, we still hadn't received ANYTHING, so we hailed another server to ask if we could at least have our drinks, which was supposed to be orange juice and a hot drink (part of the brunch menu), and he replied that because of the electricity problem the orange juice machine wan't working. Of course, this was not mentionned to us when we ordered!
We finally got some canned orange juice, and the first course around 14h30. When we finished eating, they finally cleared our plates after 15 mins. When our second course arrived (another ten minute wait for scrambled eggs), we had to ask for our warm drinks AGAIN. The waiter asked us what we'd ordered (????) so we repeated ourselves again.
By 15h15, we had to hail yet another server to beg for our desserts. The server asked us to repeat what we'd ordered (by now we were really pissed). Also, every time we hailed the servers, they acted as though we were inconveniencing them!
Overall, the servers were incompetent, not because they were having trouble dealing with the power shortage (which we totally understood), but because they never took the time to see if we were doing ok, or even apologizing for the long wait or the fact that for every course of our meal we had to ask for it and repeat what we'd ordered. They acted as though we were being picky!Also, the food wasn't even that good (one of my friends started feeling nautious after eating the scrambled eggs).
We finally got the bill around 15h40 (almost three hours, and although we had been part of the first to arrive, we were almost the last to leave) after asking for it twice, and when we asked if they could give us some kind of discount for eating in the dark and having waited for so long, they bluntly told us there was nothing they could do. Even the supervisor refused to come out to talk to us. We were so outraged that we refused to pay, and then the supervisor finally came out and told us that if we weren't happy, we should have left when we first got there and realized that they had electricity problems (great customer service).
Finally he gave us a 7 euro discount for a 107 euros bill, which made us feel horrible because we didn't care about the 7 euros... We weren't begging for charity! We were hoping that they would show some kind of gesture to tell us they were sorry we had such a bad meal (Findi is after all supposed to be a high standard restaurant!)
Basically, a BIG DISAPPOINTMENT especially from the service point of view. Don't count on being treated as a valuable customer.
