Mere Catherine (La)
This beautiful restaurant has continued to attract tourists through centuries. It first began in the year 1793. People fond of ancient music are also lured to this place. To add to this the old, ancient ambience and the aroma of traditional French cuisine whets ones appetite. It is this kind of experience that has drawn people over and over again to feast on the authentic French cuisine served here.
Last January 7th, We had the terrible expirience of having dinner at LMC. we were a party of ten and none, I repeat, none had a good meal. The pasta was uneateable, the entrecote was overcooked, the onion soup was bellow canned food standards. etc.
LMC is a tourist trap, it living on better years long, long gone. I really recommed to have a crep or even a cold sandwich before having to suffer the bad food quality of this so called restaurant. Never again.
The rustic interior, polite staff
Food is plain and cooked in advance, but price is far higher than that for fast food. Place du Tertre and Montmartre are generally a tourist trap. The way to enjoy it is to take a drink / coffee or a small snack at one of the cafés. Schedule your visit with an already full stomach...
A charming little place where I found shelter on a rainy day - a touch of oldfashion made me feel the present of the past...so delighting! The waitress was just perfect. My husband and I had a pleasant break there.
My husband and I make it to Paris once or twice a year and never ever miss a chance for dinner at La Mere Catherine. In fact, we loved it so much we had our rehearsal dinner there over 2 years ago. When we were back this January our waiter (about 10 minutes after we sat down) said, "I remember you two. You had your rehearsal dinner here several years ago. It was so much fun!" Needless to say, I started crying at the table. It is always an unforgettable experience.
Whoever said this restaurant is horrible must be delusional! This restarurant was the best I've ever been to! Great food, Beautiful music, and great location! It was so much fun! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant! I twas totally worth my time and money!
This place is a tourist trap that should be avoided at all costs. The food is appalling. 8 of us dined here for lunch in April 07 and were served cold moules (in gritty swamp water!) onion soup that tasted of vinegar, bland tasteless cabonara pasta, and dry potatoes. Not worth a visit at any expense, nevermind the 400+ we paid!!! Daylight robbery!!
In the past, this bar was a real institution in Saint Germain a touch of the exotic in this chic
and intellectual district. The tropical islands have receded with the arrival of a less sophisticated clientele. The decor has ...
You are bound to admire the decorative works of this place. There is no way anyone can ignore the historical
significance of the restaurant. Bask in the aura of the rich tradition as you wait for your meals. And ...
