Petit Zinc (Le), Paris

Le Petit Zinc was recommended to us by a friend as one of the finest restaurants in Paris without the 4 or 5 star price tag. I ordered the breast of duck with apricot sauce and my husband had the veal. Both were incredible! The wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the meal so much, we visited again before we left France. We are returning to Paris in June of this year, and we will defintiely make a full evening at Le Petit Zinc. One word about service, a meal in a fine French restaurant is a full evening's experience. Each course is to be fully savored. Please do not expect American style rushing to get you served and out of there.

Petit Zinc is a great resturant that is one step below and a couple hundred Euros less than the more lofty 3 star experience. The food is, of course, excellent. We ate at a sidewalk table that presented a good view of the rather quiet side street, not one of Paris' main drags. The seafood platter is enormous and fresh. All good. I look forward to eating there again.

Recent experience was quite poor mainly because of the disorganized and arogant service. We had booked over the Internet a table for four and pre-booked the "bienvenue" menu. When we arrived the hostess proceeeded to take us to a table setup for three and asked us to wait while she was adding the fourth setup. When they served the first dish, they served three of us but one of the three soups we ordered came out of the kitchen uncomplete and they then struggled for about 10 min to complete the dish while it was getting cold. Not even one ounce of apology when they finally completed the dish. Then we had to wait over an hour and half after the appetizer to get our main course. When I inquired about it instead of empathy and some apologies what I got is a very arrogant "hey we can only go as fast as the kitchen goes". The food was good but this is a place where you go also for the experience and they just missed the mark this time.

I know that Paris is a good ,beautiful and romantic place,Ihope I will there one day.So i must learn French well now.It is a romantic place,I like it.
