Lescure, Paris

I can't say enough about this quaint, friendly, family owned restaurant. We have eaten here all 4 times we visited Paris (since 1992), and each time is a pleasure. You are made to feel like family by the staff and cozy atmosphere. The food is a set menu, of 3 to 4 entrees, all are full course meals, "to die for". The food is authentic French cuisine, and the service is like no other. Check dining times, and for the need of possible reservations when busy times occur. Written up in travel magazines, you will fall in love with Lescure, as we have. Bon appetit!

Never in Paris without a visit. We´ve returned here for 32 years and it´s allways a nice wellcome, nice service, nice food.Outside dining is possible but sit inside to have a look at the staff when they do their best to satisfy customers, Overall this is France in a nutshell, Peter Harryson Sweden

I have been to Paris several times for business and went to Lescure with a colleague based on his reccomendation. The staff is great and the food even better. Its one of the few places in Paris where one can get a complete meal for - starter, entree, dessert and wine - for under 25 Euro. Its a great place for the family and a great place to meet new people from around the world. Last time I was there I dined with couple from Spain, a couple from Japan, and a family from England. Even better, they menus in several different languages. My usual to eat there is a tomate salad, beef burgandy, creme caramel, a bottle of their house red wine, and top it off with a decaf espresso. Most excellent!

Although only one short block from the Rue de Rivoli, Lescure is extremely well hidden. Both the food and ambiance were Provincial French, with hearty dishes served at large communal tables by a friendly wait staff. The customers were also very open and friendly, and the dining experience reminded me a bit more of my favorite American barbeque joint than anything Parisian. (Think "Southern" as in "Southern France"!) Our beef stew was hearty, though not spectacular; but our duck dish was quite possibly the best I have ever eaten. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly prepared. Sorry, NYC. When planning our next trip to Paris, Lescure was the first restaurant on our list of Must Do's! Oh, and you might want to remember that "Franglais" phrase book, since it really did help that I was able to speak French... with both the owner/waiter and our table-mates.
