Monkey Jungle

Description

Anybody who has ever bemoaned the state of caged zoo animals should appreciate the concept pioneered at this wildlife habitat. Humans look on from caged observation areas as scores of monkeys roam freely. Shows are continuous, from both the humans' and monkeys' points of view.

MONKEY JUNGLE ROCKS!!!
By ,
This is one of the most AWESOME places on Earth! The smaller monkeys are roaming free and you walk through this caged path with them climbing all around you. They have these little dishes hanging from chains that you put food in then the monkeys pull them up and grab the food through little openings in your cage. Most of the bigger ones have feeding tubes running into their cage. My only regret is that I didn't have my son and nephew on this trip as they would absolutely flip their lids over this place. I so want to take them before they get too old to appreciate it! My admission was free because I'm military (normally $30) and I paid the extra to get the special tour and feed the monkeys with no cage around me (a little expensive, but completely worth it BTW). It was so COOL! They were climbing all over me, eating out of my hand, and trying to pull the sunglasses off my face. TIP: If you want a cheap souvenier go for the $2 molded plastic monkeys or gorilla by the swimming pool; it's cheap, plus you get to watch the machine make them. If you're ever in the Miami area, I highly recommend this place. Be sure to pick up your one-of-a-kind King the Gorilla fingerpainting while you're there; they even give you a little sticker certificate of authenticity; so your buddies know it was painted by a Gorilla and not a 3 year old. Don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime experience if you're in the area!

Loved Watching the Monkeys
By ,
I'm a big nature fan...but I'm not a fan of "tourist traps". This place was great. Yeah, the price might seem a little high, but when you think about it...do you really want to go to a "bargain" zoo? The place itself seems very well maintained, the animals seem to be in good health, and the staff honestly seems to care about the animals. I'm a middle aged guy and I had a great time by myself walking through the human cages, watching and feeding the different monkeys scampering above and around you. I suggest attending the demos/shows. They are very entertaining/educational and allows you a chance to ask questions if you like. I spent about 3 hours there and loved every minute of it.

Fun and lots of laffs
By ,
It was lots of fun and laffs - those monkeys are funny, smart, adventurous and fun to watch. We drove from Delray Beach with Skylar, her grandmother Ann Marie and Bob and Aunt Karen. The tour guides were happy at their job and it showed. You can feed the monkeys while you are caged and they are free to roam and swing about. T

wow-wow-wow

Phenomenal experience, Clean facilities. Well worth the time and money for all ages. More species to see than anywhere else we have been. Knowledgeable staff. If you love primates dont miss this place. In or 50's and enjoyed it as much as the children. Pick strawberries 1/2 mile away with a fresh strawberry milkshake. CAR

A must see attraction for young children
By ,
Our son is 4 years of age and has gone to the Monkey Jungle for the past three years and loved every minute....even as a toddler he was free to run (ground is mostly wood chip) and could safely see animals, feed animals and exerience the wonder of a natural habitat. This is not like a zoo and is not meant to be a disney experience...we have loved the quiet, go at your own pace, attraction. These are the experiences we want our son to cherish. Food choices were limited inside and a bit expensive, but we don't travel to the Monkey Jungle for food...we come here every year for exposure and a chance to see animals not caged, but more free. While the cost might be high to some, we figure we are helping to support this wildlife home and feel like every penny is well worth the cost. We'll be back this March...hope to see you there....

Great Place to Go for Teens and Kids
By ,
I can say this definitely, being a teenager myself that Monkey Jungle is a pretty COOL place for teens & young kids!!! You are the one in a cage not the monkeys and you can feed them with the boxes you can buy in the store or at the concession stand. The monkeys are pretty smart they have little buckets on chains which they pull up and take what ever is in the bucket to eat. They also have shows to watch (at certin times) such as a monkey feeding show where they feed the monkeys, explain their spiecies, and tell you their names. Thus, making Monkey Jungle a great place for kids and teens!!!

Amazing and Fun!
By ,
My family and I just went this afternoon. The monkeys were incredibly cute! I loved the way you feed them. I really learned a lot about monkeys and apes. There are a bunch of noisy birds as well. I would recommend going to the shows, they are very informative. The guides do a lot more than regular zookeepers would. I would say that you probably need at least two hours for this park. The prices were okay, just a little bit expensive. Not very many people know about this place, but it is very fun, though it is sort of far away. Don't forget to pick up a souvenir on the way out!

Awesome Place
By ,
This place is awesome, two of my girlfriends and I went to monkey jungle like 3 years ago but want to visit again. We found it adorable, the monkeys are so entertaining. We had alot of laughs when one peed on my friend.lol I must say that its kind of discouraging when you drive by the neighborhood but when you are in there its amazing! Also wear some sort of lotion or spray for the mosquitoes. Highly recommended dont come to miami just for the beach theres many places to see!!!
