Golf Club at Boulder Ridge, San Jose

I just joined as a new member and found the course to be challenging/enjoyable and the staff friendly/helpful. The membership is not large, they are adding members, which is positive with respect to getting a tee time and having personalized service.

The course has beautiful views of the valley, the terrain is gorgeous (including the mammoth boulders), and the course is difficult. The club house is elegant and the food excellent.

Hotel??? Don't know what the other reviewer was talking about. Probably the clubhouse, that was finished last year... Great layout, and convenient to get to. Gotta bring your 'A' game, unless you like losing balls and getting frustrated when you are off the fairways. They recently finished rebuilding a number of fairways, and the drainage problems that plagued them since opening seem to have finally been taken care of! Membership has not grown as high as the owners wish, so a push for new members is underway. However, they are a non-propriety club, and will hold back 40% of the sale price if you sell your membership later (OUCH!!!).
