We stopped at this restaurant on a recommendation from a friend. Boy were we disappointed. Almost everything on the menu is fried and comes with french fries. There were a few choices that weren't. The whole menu was pricey -- 16.95 for fried haddock is ridiculous -- haddock is a cheap fish. The clam chowder was very good -- but pricey and came in a paper cup. All the lunches came on paper plates. Stopping in I thought we could get salmon, trout or other fish prepared in a more healthy way. Most of the food was a heart attack on a plate. The service was extremely slow for a weekday. Sorry, but we will NEVER go back. Still looking for a good seafood restaurant in NH.
The restaurant is quaint & the service was very good. However the fried seafood was not outstanding or even good. The seafood (clams & scallops) was very bland tasting. Unfortunately, the restroom was not clean either. I am giving it two stars because given the prices, the seafood was certainly was subpar.
me and my husband went to peteys today 2-15-10 it was the best seafood we ever had.the service was great we will be back for sure i give this place a 5 star. hope everyone try it like we did. thanks peteys for a great meal.....
Petey's is the best Seafood Restaurant in New England!!! If you love great seafood, you have to dine at Petey's. The coconut shrimp is to die for and the chowder is fabulous!!! The atmosphere is friendly, the service is great, and the reggae music gives it a great island feel!
The drive from Boston is well worth it! I can't wait to go again!
They make the absolute best chowder here.. In the off season when they are closed, I go to Petey's Market to get chowder. This chowder is so good, I can't imagine not being able to have it year round.
I would give it a higher rating, but it can be over priced. The service can also be slow in the summer.... Rumor has it that restaurant management is rude to their staff, so make sure to give your servers an extra big tip if there service is good.
