El Foco (the Light bulb) is your basic taco place. No fancy art work, no posh table settings, in fact colorful graffiti on the walls is what passes for decor. Regardless, there is no better place to sit down for a few cold beers and delicious tacos stuffed with pork, chicken, cheese, seafood or beef. Ravenous diners will be happy with the gargantuan portions of delicious ribs and steaks. At night, this place becomes a popular watering hole with a mix of locals and tourists tipping Coronas and toasting one another.
This is one of my favorite places for good tacos. The wait staff is polite, effciient, the food fresh, and the prices very reasonable. I usually go for the Tacos Aligator (actually they contain chicken not alligator). I have probably been here 12 times in the past 4 years, and I am never disappointed.
We've been going to Coz since '92 and always stop by El Foco for the consistently good food. The staff has always been helpful and the tacos are delicious. Try the different varieties of tacos available. They're inexpensive, so you won't break the bank. I highly recommend this place to anyone going to Coz.
We had a good meal at El Foco; the food was good and reasonably priced. However, when we got the bill we saw that we had been charged $70US for two pitchers or margaritas. After complaining we got it down to $60, but the damage was done. I realize that we should have asked the price before we ordered the pitchers, but the waiter was pushing the margaritas when we were ordering. We left with a bad taste in our mouths and a desire to share our experience.
What a great little place! The onion and garlic taco on fresh corn tortilla and creamy cheese are sublime! Fresh incendiary salsa is on the table. The selection is huge and the prices/sizes are reasonable so you can easlily create your own taco tapas buffet.
Relaxing, casual and open very late. The taco selection is unusual and high quality and the cerveza is cold.
