The Chocolate Bar is the real deal - it's surprising the walls aren't made of chocolate too! A trendy cafe-bar, it offers a wide array of desserts, chocolate-flavored drinks and alcohol, and other chocolaty concoctions that are simply out of this world. The in-crowd loves to hang out here, so it does get a little packed on weekends, but that won't stop the hard-core sweet-tooth junkies from stopping by. For more information, do see the website.
The new Chocolate Bar at the Summit Sierra mall is incredible. It's a fun, hip place to have a memorable cocktail and dessert. The service is fantastic and it is the perfect place to bring a date or hang with friends.
If you had a great experience at the Chocolate Bar downtown; stay there, keep that memory. The only thing I found that the new lounge at the mall has to offer is there very modern theme. The music was much to loud for conversation. Servers with an attitude is not a good look.
If this place intends on staying as busy as they were then there servers should know exactly what the bar has to offer there customers. And the fact that these drinks have the taste of a cherry or orange soda that I can purchase for half the cost at any fast-food restaurant, doesn't make it anymore special than just that; another ordinary drink out of an ordinary well.
The set up is too uniform. A lounge is not a place to just sit, and that's it. If you're standing your either in the servers way or totally blocking the two very narrow isles the place has to offer. The tables need to be bolted down. I would much rather worry about tripping over the table than watching my drink(s) and the table come with me. At least do something about the servers attitudes. I don't believe in (customer) always being right. But don't like being questioned in such a matter that I feel the need to leave from somewhere that I have chosen to spend my money and time at.
My boyfriend took me the the chocolate bar for the first time this Valentine's Day. I've heard so much about this place that I wasn't sure what to expect. Is it a bar? Is it a restaurant? Is it a bakery? Is it a club? To my surprise...it was all of the above. I've never been to a place that has so many different options. The food was amazing! I felt like I was at a five star restaurant, but I was listening to upbeat loud music at the same time! I couldn't believe it! I definitely recommend the pomegranate mojito if you are into cocktails, and the chocolate cheesecake was the best dessert I've ever had. I had so much fun on Valentine's Day. I couldn't have asked for a better date. I will definitely be back...next time I'm bringing the girls with me!
A large group of my friends decided to celebrate a birthday party at the chocolate bar. We didn't call ahead, but figured we'd try our luck anyway. It was a busy friday night and the place was full, but everyone seemed happy. There were a few tables waiting ahead of us, but we were amazed how fast 10 people were seated. Within a couple of minutes, a waitress had already gotten all of us drinks! It was great! The second we sat down we were immediately greeted by our server, and water was brought to the table. We ordered 2 large fondues, which was the perfect amount for all of us. The drinks were fabulous! You have to try their "ichigo crush!" It had fresh strawberries and peach vodka! It was to-die-for! We planned on going other places that night, but when we realized the chocolate bar was open until 2am, we closed the place down. It was a night I'll never forget! Anyone who wants to have a great time should definitely try the chocolate bar!!
This is by far my favorite bar/restaurant in Reno! I've traveled to many places and this adorable dessert bar is definitely one of the best! The service was amazing! Everything we ordered was perfect, and even the owner came over to see how everything was. I loved the seared ahi and crab cakes. My husband was a fan of the chicken satay! We ordered two desserts, the cheesecake and tiramisu, and ate every bite! The cocktails melted in our mouths. I highly suggest ordering the "C Cocktail." It was out of this world! I was truly impressed by the professionalism of the staff. I would reccommend this place to everyone!! (Oh, and the tiramisu was delicious! I would definitely order it again!)
Pretty nice, upscale bar. My fiance and I went there for dessert, and after dinner drinks. We sat at the bar and were treated great. I had a martini and we shared an amazing white chocolate carmel cheesecake. It was to die for!
I have never been treated so rude in all of Reno! A group of seven of us all agreed that the two servers were aggressively nasty. No worries none of us or our friends will be back; good chocolate or not.
The tiramisu is not at all what it should be, is more like a DRY CUSTARD, IF YOU ARE A LOVER OF IT DO NOT ORDER IT.
It was a bad experience all together and I would not recommend this bar to anyone.
This was the second visit and even if the first visit was not all good (chocolate ice cream was very plain and the fancy hot chocolate also a little taste), I decided to take a friend and give it a second taste.
After the server explained that the all food was rated (meaning best quality or in this case just call a nice custard tiramisu) from the elaborated description on the menu I was expecting a somewhat good tiramisu.
Not at all, the tiramisu is more like a dry custard and no liquor or chocolate can be found on it.
More important when asked about it, and I explain that this was not tiramisu in my opinion. The person said that he was the one that made it and it was perfect. Immediately he took it away and promptly give us the bill including charges for the tiramisu.
I went back and ask for the dish back, I said that if he was going to charge for the dish he should not have taken it away. He when on interrogating me on what kind of authority I had to be an expert on tiramisu and so on......
On the end after a very confrontational conversation with the other person in my party he decided not to charge us for the entire order.
Long story short, I have been in California for more than 20 years and I have had tiramisu in many restaurants, some have been good and some not so good, this was the most distant relative of what tiramisu is.
More important I should not have been confronted in such and aggressive matter. Since I'm a customer and I was asked about the dish, and I was simple expressing my opinion. The Chocolate Bar owner was very rude and I will never take any of my friends there or recommended the place to anyone. There are so many nice places in Reno that I can go and spend my money with my friends.
