My gf and I decided to spend a weekend here in late October. The first great thing was that they gave us a discounted rate because our 2 day stay started during the fall foliage season but ended during the off-season. There was a slight problem with our creditcard being charged twice before we got up there, but it was fixed as soon as we checked in. They even gave us a complimentary meal for our troubles. The owner himself personally apologized to us, taking time out of his busy schedule. The staff there was incredibly considerate and helpful, telling us about area attractions and sharing stories with us. The waitresses at Tuckermans are beyond helpful and the lady who serves breakfast in the morning on weekends is an absolute sweetheart. The staff even have a wall where they post thank-you letters they have recieved from guests - a true testimonal to how friendly they are.
As for the inn itself, we stayed in a cottage. Although it looked small from the outside, it is rather spacious and cozy inside. We had a gas fireplace, a personal jacuzzi, and a very comfy 4 post bed. No one bothered us or distracted us during our stay, so we got some much needed relaxation. Everything was very clean and we absolutely loved our little cottage!
The included breakfast is delicious, not cold bagels and rubbery eggs but actual made to order food. Very accomadating for the vegetarian as well. Try the hash browns, they are fantastic!
We would stay back here in a heartbeat. My gf has been to 5 countries and countless cities, and she says this is her fave hotel so far. It's wonderful, and the people that work at this inn are so welcoming and kind, I would never go anywhere else!
Just got back from 4 days here with our two kids and found this place to be perfect! We stayed in a family room that had a King Bedroom and two twins in living room! There was enough room to stretch and feel comfortable! The location is great, off the main road yet right in the middle of everything! The girls serving free breakfast were super nice and property was clean and well maintained.
I will go back here for sure. maybe without the kids next time ;)
The New England Inn was absolutely PERFECT!!!! We stayed in the Log Cabins - absolutely fantastic!!! We have stayed many places in the White Mountains but THIS place was by far the best!!!! The owners and staff are all absolutely incredible!!!!!! The Inn offers many variations of the type of place you would like to stay - the Inn, Log Cabins, Lodge, Cottages and more. Indoor pool, fitness center, babbling brook alongside the Log Cabins, full breakfast included!!!!!! Tuckerman's is their onsight restaraunt - ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC - best service and food in the White Mountains!!! The Inn prices are UNBEATABLE!!!! Not far from downtown North Conway, skiing, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and more!!! I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!!!!!!! If you don't stay here at least once, you are totally missing out!!!! And once you stay - you'll be back for more and more and more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Our first trip was through a major snowstorm. It took us over 5 hours to make a 3 hour trip. However, as we opened the door to our log cabin it all became more than worth the driving issues. This is now a once a year, special romantic weekend for us. Far enough off the main roads but so close to everything! It truly is one of those places that allow you to escape for a while.
try it, just not in March, we'll need a cabin........
The fall foliage lingered, the weather was clear and sunny and warm....a nice small, private cottage with my wife with a jacuzzi bathtub? Sometimes there's planetary alignment that makes everything perfect.
The cottage was quaint, sparsely appointed, but arranged nicely. A 4 poster queen bed with canopy with a fold out loveseat at the end of the bed which faced the TV (perfect for watching a baseball playoff game together). Jacuzzi tucked in one corner in the room and bathroom in opposite corner with nice sized stand-up shower.
Breakfast (included) was decent, Tuckerman's Restaurant was good to take back to room (look, I don't need to sit near a bar with a bunch of 20-somethings dropping f-bombs). Tuckerman's is basic American comfort food fare which is nice to be able to fall back on with all the regional 'fine dining'.
If you're looking for luxury, this is not it -- if you're looking for privacy with some basic amenities in the mountains, it's great. We'd go back in a minute....
