We know Ronaldo's is always busy, but on New Year's Eve and Mother's Day, they provide not only an Italian menu, but some specials as well, and it's the only times they TAKE reservations. That was their first mistake - we had to wait almost a half hour for seating despite that fact and it appears others were doing the same. Same for the order - we were ready to leave when it finally came. It's a shame - Ronald's has good food but they definitely mismanaged Mother's Day this year. It will be a long time before we go back - there are other good Italian restaurants in the Seacoast.
My parents started bringing me to Ronaldo's when I was a pre-teen. Now that I'm on my own, my boyfriend and I will still make the hour commute just to have Ronaldo's fine Italian cuisine! I recommend it to everyone. The hearty portions, reasonable prices and excellent atmosphere. Don't let the outside fool you, there's a treat just waiting with in!
From the outside of the restaurant you would never know what you were in for. Inside the atmosphere is very calming and soothing. Very romantic for those on a date. The service was excellent, you couldn't ask for better service. The food was FANTASTIC! I would go again and again and again. If you haven't tried it you need to. The even offer convenient take out for those who are on the go and don't have time to sit and enjoy..
Having come across this quaint little restaurant by chance, who would've thought that the finest italian food would come out of it. Subtle and dimly lit and Frank Sinatra playing through the restaurant speakers, this is a true dining experience with the nicest of accomodations from the host and the well trained staff. Highly recommended for all who enjoy italian eatery's.
I went to Ronaldo's with my sister-in-law a few years ago & I gotta tell ya, I have never had Fettuccine Alfredo that was as good as they made it. It literally came out to me served in a skillet & I had leftovers for 3 days. It was well worth the trip from Rochester & the $. We went on a Thursday night & didn't have to wait at all.
OK, let's get this out of the way first. You'd never know it from looking at it, but this is one of the best Italian restaurants you'll ever find. Tucked into a stripmall with a pharmacy, a liquor store, and a discount bookstore, you wouldn't think this hole-in-the-mall would be the source of such delightful, delicious, and downright huge platters of food. But it is. It's the stuff of legends 'round these parts, but the secret is out to the point where you might want to show up very early (like Seinfeld's parents dinnertime) or very late to get a table on a Saturday night. It's small, crowded, and has no wine-list to speak of. But the food portions are mammoth, making this night out a value-packed two-meal excursion. Speaking for myself, I had the veal parm, and it was absolutely sublime, postively melting in my mouth. Now that's a veal parm! The specials were truly special, and some dishes are so big they're served in skillets! In short, I recommend Renaldo's highly. Plus it's convenient for all your pharmacuetical and liquor needs. ;-)
My husband and I moved to the Seacoast 18 months ago. We've been out to eat at a lot of restaurants, and the best one, by far, is Ronaldo's. Their portions are enormous - we eat left-overs for three days after going there for dinner. The service is always great too.
