Beware of the 1-star reviews here; I have eaten at the Shalimar several dozen times and have experienced NONE of the problems these people are claiming. I've eaten in Indian restaurants in both the states and England and can say with hesitation that Shalimar is sublime. The food and service are both outstanding. Easily my favorite restaurant in the valley. I suspect the 1-star reviews are from rivals.
This is not good Indian restaurant.Food was not good. Did not look like it was fresh. Moreover, They charge 2.00$ for pickle, that does not happen anywhere else. If you just want indian food, then go there. If you want GOOD indian food, then don't go there.
This is the worst indian restaurent i have ever gone. First when i reach into the hotel, i have to wait for 20 minutes to get a table, that was okay, however after getting the table too i have to wait another 45-50 minutes to get food. The food there was the worst indian food i ever had. I ordered two vegitables & it was really hard for me to eat. The services at the hotel is even more worst, i ask for an extra plate for my son & the lady there told me that we have already given you the plate. I never expect such a behavior.
My advice will be never go there.
This food is bad and the managment is worst. My family and I had dinner on August 28, 2009. We ordered two vegetables, Parathas and roti. The parathas were ok but the rotis were tough like leather. One of the vegetable had a staple in it. So i complained to owner/manager. She did not care and her response was that we get the chana beans in a big pail so this happens. No sorry or offered any substitues. I am an Indian origin so I know the good Indian food. This is a bad food and worst managment and service. Those who has a chance to read this review, please take my advice and go to any place but at Salimar of India. If such a thing loke zero star rating, then I would give that to the Salimar of India
I live in the Mount Washington Valley and I have never tried Indian Food. On a whim both my girlfriend and I decided to stop by. I found it to be very good food, very affordable and the service was fantastic, I will definitely be back.
Delicious Indian food. The best food in the valley of 100 restaurants, hands down. The atmosphere is certainly not apres ski but the quaint and quietness compliments the meals nicely. The family owners are delightful.
I live close to Conway and I LOVE this place, it's hot.. and I love curry foods! curry is also great for your body and cleanse you from toxins.. I go there twice a week to eat with my bf and they are always so nice and genuine.. We always have a woman serve us and everything is so quiet and relaxing in there. We always end up bringing extra entrees with us home. I got my favorites and my bf got hes. Love this place!!!! Second best places in north conway is Muddy Moose and Maestro.
Worst Indian food I ever found. All the dishes with Medium spicy is like hot as in very very Spicy Thai food...the vegies were half cooked. I had been there on 11th oct 2007...will not recommed...there are many other restaurants in the area, so go someplace else and dont insult your palate!
Being Indians,we decided to loyally
eat here.Sadly we did not even reach the eating part.
When we were parking, there was a fight going on between the owner and a big group of customers who were dis-satisfied with the
food and decided not to eat or pay.
Seeing that my husband reversed the car.
But then the owner comes tapping on the window.Tells us that the police r coming
as we didn't pay.At that point my husband was furious and told him that
we did not even step in his restaurant
and were leaving because of the big 'scene'
Please save your evening..
Don't eat here!
