First of all,This review is to let you know the pros and cons about the stonehurst. We've stayed here before and Have always enjoyed ourselves. The staff is simply the best!,They will go completely out of there way to make sure your stay is wonderful. The food is fantastic and the Manor dining rooms are warm and inviting. Next I have to be honest about the Pet rooms. They did not meet our standards. The rooms were in need of restoration,The bed along with the linens were uncompfortble,We couldnt get a good night sleep. The 25 dollar per night charge for a dog I dont see. The rooms are not cleaned very well,Sheets unchanged if you stay more than a night. The Stonehurst and there Manor staff gets a A+(Highly recommended),Its your call for the Pet Friendly. Its depends on what you and your pet expect!
The whole experience, from the time we got inside we got a tour of the 3 rooms that were left. We liked the one with a screened in deck, to a great meal and breakfest the next morning. We will be back in the fall.
i have stayed here more than a handful of times. love it. no better deal, wonderful dinner and breakfast included.
great views, great trails,
it is a great place for adults to relax, peace and quiet. is a plus not being bothered by kids. although kids are welcome, i'm sure, it's nice to be quiet around the pool, no crying at dinner, etc.
rooms are quaint, not real fancy, but comfortable. its not the ritz for sure, but a great getaway with a great price.
My husband and I had a reservation for two nites Mar. 31st. and Apr. 1st. Apon arriving we were told that the inn wasn't filled and we could have an upgrade if we wanted , but it would be on the third floor but we would be gaining a wood burning fireplace. We jumped at the chance as we were planning to stay in the wing round back which are nice rooms but not as pleasant as staying inside the manor as you simply walk down stairs when it is time for meals rather than going outside and around the building. The staff All were very friendly and helpful and the food was fabulous as it has always been the many times we have stayed there. I would HIGHLY RECOMEND IT. We travel and eat out all the time and I cannot say enough nice things about the spotless rooms throughout the manor and friendly staff.
My family and I loved it there. Beautiful grounds and rooms, good food and great atmosphere for a country getaway. PS We loved the cat! It is very clear on the website that this a pet friendly inn, so if you are not pet friendly, you probably shouldn't go.
Restaurant was a 6 on a scale of 1-10. Has definitely gone downhill in the last few years. What is more disturbing is the attitude of the owners, managers, and or workers. Extremely rude and unaccomodating. I felt that they felt they were doing us a favor from answering a simple question to making a reservation for dinner. Also not a child friendly place by any means. Cats roaming the inn not always a welcome sight.
