Save your money and time, go next door to Moat Mountain or literally anywhere else in the valley. I wish I read these reviews before I went, I would rather get fast food at least it ll have some flavor. Two thumbs down, way down, tons of good food in the area but not here.
My wife and I dined at this restaurant on a whim while we were celebrating our anniversary in N. Conway in July, 2011 and we were both very pleased with the quality of our food. I had a simple pasta dish with sausage and my wife had scallops cooked with saffron. The pasta and home-made sausage were delicious. My wife is still raving about her food. In fact, I'm writing this review because we were looking up the name to recommend Maestro's to a friend and I read all the recent negative reviews. My experience was TOTALLY different than the ones I read. We weren't in a hurry so the wait time for freshly prepared meal was not an issue. In sum: we totally enjoyed this little restaurant in the north country. Try it.
This was one of the worst Meals we have ever had!!! We ordered GAMBERI AL FORNO which was way more like a soup than an entree. The seafood was swimming in a milky watery substance which had no flavor except for a very strong garlic taste. My partner ordered POLLO al ZUNGOLI which tasted, well, it didn't taste of anything at all. The one thing she can't eat are Onions and they were all over the entree. We made sure to read the menu thoroughly and there were absolutely no mention of onions anywhere (This definitely taught us to make sure we ask and not just take the word of the menu). The Server was ok but then he was also the bartender and he had the priorities of the money making bar to deal with as one would expect since most of the income comes from the sale of alcohol. We would never recommend nor eat here again!
The service and the food were AWFUL. Went in March 2011. I ordered the chicken parm, and my boyfriend ordered some sort of pasta dish with sausage and chicken. Both were terrible. The chicken on my dish was totally burned on one side which the chef obviously tried to hide by putting that side down and the pasta was overcooked. My boyfriend said his dish was equally as disappointing with very large chunks of raw garlic throughout and agin overcooked chicken and pasta in some sort of sauce that was more like a soup in the bottom of the dish. We also got salad which was the size you would expect to be at a place like this but the disturbing part was that the chef had obviously cut the tomatoes (and possibly the other vegetables as well) with a knife they had used to cut something else with that was white (possible mozerella) and it left a white residue on the side of the tomatoes which looked disgusting and made it impossible to eat. Also, wwwwaaayyyy too much salad dressing. I wouldnt come here again if someone paid ME.
Was not very happy with the food went last year it was really good went back and food had gone down hill. Ordered chicken parm and the chicken tasted like it was taken out of a frozen box of chicken patties just terrible.
I spent last summer in North Conway so I had a lot of time to try various places. I´m not a fan of typical american cuisine that 90% of local restaurants offer so when I first tried Maestros food I was really pleased.
Right, the wait for dish in other restaurants is shorter because it´s all ready in advance, just fried and served when you order it but it´s definitely worth it to wait for Maestros food. It´s all home made, prepared one by one from fresh healthy ingrediences and the taste is really amazing!! And to all of that when you come in, there is a sign that reminds you that you might wait so no complains about that!
I recommend to everybody who appretiate quality for really nice price to go there!
Awesome is the word of the day. My wife and I have enjoyed some of the best Italian food from restaurants in Rhode Island to Maine and we have to say that Maestro's in New Hampshire exceeded our expectations in many ways. With Veal Parmesian being my favorite meal I can say that you would be hard pressed to find better anywhere.
Maestros in North Conway is by far the best Italian food in the north country. The owner and chef is always present making delicious fresh, food. The new location is great and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about what they serve. If you are in the area do your self a favor and stop in!
The food was decent, but the service in the bar was absolutely horrible. The bartender ignored us for 10 minutes while he chatted with his friends. When he finally did give us attention, he got our order wrong. We also noticed that he delivered the wrong meal to someone sitting near by. If we go back, we won't sit in the lounge area. Hopefully service in the dining room is better.
