Stopped there on 3/9/07 and purchased a Birthday Cake for my wife. The plan was to come back the following day at around 4:00 P.M. and have dinner, and SUPRISE her with the cake. When we got there, the woman greeting us handed us off to a male waiter to be seated. While he led the way I brought up the rear, stopping to let the greeter know about the cake.I handed her my slip for the cake, and told her I wanted it brought out at the end of the meal.In the meantime, the male waiter throws the menu on a table and walks away, not saying a word. Before we could decide where to sit, he comes back and wipes down the booth across from the table. Again he leaves, not saying a word.A waitress then shows up asking us if we're the ones with the Birthday cake! We order our meal, and decide we want to bring the cake home with us. We want out of there. The cake can't be found! It was never made! The so called Boss tells us to wait and he hastily throws one together, only getting the name wrong! I got the money back for the cake and left.
We were on our way home from Dartmouth Hitchcock with our child. We asked her where she wanted to go and she said Friendly's. It was almost 9pm, but they took care of us and didn't make us feel like we were keeping them. It was the bright spot in our childs sad medical crisis.
