Recently had dinner at J.P Stephens Restaurant (used to be Lilly's on the Pond). Food was pretty good, service was good, prices were fair. The nachos appetizer was pretty good with a reasonable amount of cheese, tomatoes, peppers, onions and jalapenos. They do charge extra to get chili on them. The Caesar Salad entree with grilled chicken was very good, nicely seasoned with garlic. I had the Cajun Style Sirloin. The meat was tastefully seasoned, the backed potato was fluffy without being overdone, and the vegetables were cooked enough without becoming mushy. The meat was nice and lean, but very slightly undercooked. I ordered medium and it came slightly redder than I expected, more medium-rare. Better that though than over-cooked and tough. All the cooked food arrived nice and warm. We did have to wait some between courses, but better that than having the food undercooked or dried out under a heat lamp. Personally I found the decor in the main part of the dinning room a bit dark, particular the wall coloring. The rear room has larger windows which help the atmosphere greatly. We'll probably go back again.
We just experienced a delightful afternoon at Lilly's on the Pond. We were on a fall foliage tour and stopped for lunch. The hometown style cooking was the best, and the price was reasonable. The ambience of the location was unforgettable, and provided the perfect spot for viewing fall foliage with the unexpected first snowfall of the season--an unforgettable opportunity!
We recently held our son's rehersal dinner at Lilly's - sight unseen. We could not have been more happy! The food was very good, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was most cordial.
Several of the out of town guests had lunch at Lilly's the next day and were likewise impressed.
We would not hesitate to recommend Lilly's.
Lilly's On the Pond restaurant is full of charm. The food is excellent and the service is cheerful and accomadating. Almost all the desserts are homemade and simply delicious. They offer a variety of foods. They offer great appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, chicken, seafood and beef dishes. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Anyway, if you live a distance away it's worth the gas money and the trip for such a great experience. Enjoy!
Situated next to a pleasent little brook complete with a water-wheel turning underneath a constant flow from the nearby pond, sits Lilly's On The Pond Restaurant. With nature on all sides Route 202 provides quick and easy access to this quaint eatery. My experence here has been delightful and full of old world charm.
And the food Rocks!
the food was great, the atmosphere relaxing and the price is right. i liked that it had alot of different types of food, the desserts were ok and the drinks are kinda small, but overall a excellent place to go.
The dim lights in the restaurant give it a bit of a luxurious feeling. A wonderful family restaurant. And theres Kids menus for all of you moms! Lovly place, reasonable prices, great food, great service, and just a homely feeling to the place! 5 stars!
