Luca's Mediterranean Cafe, Keene

Prices are ridicoulous and meals are very out of the ordinary!

I am starting to do a bunch of reviews of restaurants in the areas. I love food and I enjoy going out a lot, so this is my way of giving kuddos to some great places. This restaurant is up there with some of the better big city restaurants. I was informed about their new menu and they even made a cute joke about how since it was my first time it was new no matter what. Kind of shows that they pay attention and don't read off a script. Overall I think they reached their goal with the Mediterranean feel. I must say that seein BBQ ribs on the menu seemed odd, but we tried it anyway. As well as the Crepes with onions and brie. The ribs were North African flavored with a carrot slaw that was really spicy. MAybe a bit more than what I liked but it worked with the ribs which were flavorful but mild. The Crepes were amazing, and I mean amazing. Creamy and rich filling topped with a sweet apple and wine chutney type thing. The Entrees had Pastas and about 6 meeat /fish choices. I can not tell you how happy I was with the Lamb. Loin Chops with a sweeter Cherry Sauce. I also like to ask restaurants to make some alterations to a menu, in this case the response was incredible. A young lady who seemed to be the hostess or manager took care of us with such consideration. She asked questiopns and was very informative of our choices. THis is a great experience and one I will go to when I have friends to bring out. I am glad I choose Luca's as my first review. I look forward to sharing more with you in the future

After going up to Keene State College for four years visiting our son, we finally discovered this gem of a restaurant that matches and even exceeds the quality of Italian food of many of the Providence restaurants on the Hill in Providence which is renowned for fine Italian dining. Our meal was the typical limited holiday menu that you see in most restaurants on an Easter Sunday. But the food was superior. Each of us had a different meal from the menu and each was terrific. The service we received from the waitstaff to the owner making sure our meal and dining experience had been satisfactory was also superior. The atmosphere is truly reminiscent of Italy and the limited seating ensures a relaxing, intimate dining experience. Before leaving, visit the restrooms, you won't be disappointed! As you would expect with fine dining it is pricey for college students on a limited budget, but dining here, is a must-do while in Keene. We highly recommend this restaurant.

I have been to Luca's in the past and always thought it was ok. Met Lucawho worked in the dinning room usually in a tie and dressed. So I knew he wasn't the chef. After a two plus year hiatus in Keene I went back. and I am not quite sure what happened but the food has become amazing. It was always an ok place and a good value. My wife's favorite part was talking food and stuff with Luca and the staff. But all of a sudden the food made the place go from a 7 on our list to a top score 10. After making this our one stop and getting consitant great food we finally saw Luca again. Who seems to be more active in the kitchen with a upgrade chef and much better team. (he put it as more into the concept.) This time he was in a Chef Coat and working a lot in the kitchen. We are big fans and now that the food rivals everything else we are so proud to say Luca's is the best place in Keene and maybe NH

The food at this place is just exquisite. On any given night, the owner Luca walks around and talks with all of the guests to ask how the meal is. While pricier than other places in the area, the result is worth it. Right on the square in downtown Keene, this is the place for romantic dinners to business lunches!

Wow what a place. I eat at the Market and restaurant like crazy and havent found anything better. The restaurant is much better on service, howeever I am not as big a fan on the waiting in the market. But it is getting better. We have food delivered to our business once a wekk from the market and absolutley love it. PS who would eat tofu anyway (JK)

The food from catering is quite plain and boring. I have gotten sick from the food they have sent to me at work. Don't eat the Tofu!

The wait staff is about the best we have seen in years. The wine should be a little more substantial($7 per glass) and use of a larger wine glass creates an entirely different atmosphere. Scallops and shrimp over pasta was bland and watery and needed more herbs and spices. The scallops were wrapped and cooked to perfection. Chicken dish was well received but again needed more herbs. The inside decor as well as outside seating was excellent. We will try different dishes in the next two weeks. All in all, this is a restaurant that should not be missed.

Great Romantic Atmosphere. Great Quality Food. Taste to die for. If you are looking to impress whether it be your own pallet or your friends.
