No, you didn't see it on an off day. I was not impressed. Was looking for a nice, downhome country breakfast place, cozy lunch and dinner spot with interesting, local food. This isn't it.
I tried a breakfast and a lunch there in the fall, 2009 and was disappointed each time. Sort of institutional type food.
Very Disappointed after reading previous reviews.
Lunch only judgment not breakfast:
Had the veal special:
Veal was pounded, breaded and fried and actually not too bad.
The mashed potatoes had the consistency of instant, the vegetables tasted like they were out of a can and the gravy was just off the shelf and salty.
On the positive side this definitely had the genuine look and atmosphere of an authentic diner with great counter service and waitresses.
Will go back in hope I just didn't catch it on the right day.
