The Centennial Hotel
A newly transformed Concord, NH Inn, you're invited to experience The Centennial Hotel with it's unique charms and impeccable attention to detail. Built in 1852 as a Victorian era building, its past has been preserved while recent modern conveniences have been introduced.
New ownership took over a while back and did a total interior renovation, in 2006 I believe. The original Inn had a Victorian decor, now it is very upscale urban!!! VERY NICE!! The Granite restaurant and bar is excellent. The best in town in my estimation. The new owners were formally with Hyatt or Hilton and it shows. It is a well run and maintained hotel, with a great staff !! My wife & I are hooked.
I had previously given the Centennial's restaurant an excellent rating but it has gone down significantly in the past year. They are utilizing inexperienced help and yet charging prices as if it was a five star restaurant. It is no longer a pleasant experience. I have discontinued going there for these reasons. What a disappointment because it started out very well.
You will not find a better Hotel/Inn anywhere near Concord as nice and as up to date and as convenient as the newly remodeled Centennial Inn. Their Granite State Restaurant within the Inn has fabulous food that would be called fusion. The wait staff provides very good serrvice and they are accomodating to you needs. I have eaten there over a dozen times in the past six months and every time has been a positive experience.
Every year for the last 17 years we go to a one day Bible conference in Concord. I found this place last year and have now stayed there 2 years in a row. This year we took some friends with us and next year we will take more with us. We enjoy traveling a good restaurants and the restaurant here is great. The quality is outstanding and the presentation is wonderful. The rooms for comfort and appearance are delightful to stay in. We look forward to our next stay.
It's been newly renovated and the website makes the hotel look wonderful. But the service is really poor. The front desk staff don't even know how to transfer a phone call up to the room.
I was celebrating a birthday and simply wanted a birthday cake delivered from a nearby cake shop. They flat out refused to help. I've stayed at the Holiday Inn and COncord Inn - yes they are not really three stars but the service is way better.
My stay at this inn was wonderful. The rooms are very modern and updated. The restaurant inside was excellent. I ordered the filet which was cooked perfectly. They also have a wonderful wine list. The staff was helpful. Their exercise room is well equipped. There is plenty of parking, and the facade of the inn itself is quite beautiful. If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely go back.
Hard to believe you can find a four star hotel in Concord NH...but The Centennial is that and maybe even more so...Great combination of historic architecture with contemporary services, amenities...wonderful bed, plasma TV, bathrooms...extremely well done. It is a brand new Hotel. Restaurant is wonderful as well. Very busy so make sure you make a reservation. Great price value. Overall, 4 -5 stars.
The Centennial Inn has just been refurbished and it is excellent - the rooms look fantastic and the menu is spectacular. This now, boutique hotel has both sophistication and creativity in its rooms and dinning experience. Highly recommended!
Inn was under reconstruction, shared inn with 4 other guests & a bat. Room was OK but bed linen was suspect. Breakfast was help yourself from what was left. Concord closes at 5.00 & not a lot happening apart from street racers & cars beeping behind any tourists. Only reason for going there was to see planatarium that was hidden away. Would not stop here again. The plans for the new look inn are too drastically modernist for such a grand looking building. Only 4 cars in the massive carpark so why do people park right next to you that you can't open your door?
No heat, hot tub not working, Staff at the front desk demanding their payroll be paid in cash because the bank would not cash the check. Not a very professional Inn. Meals are cold, wine not available. Why the city has not shut them down is amazing to me. Where is WMUR 9 when you need them.... What a terrible waste of 129.00 to have out of state visitors stay there. Warn all your friends.. don't stay there.
