We had a great time at Steele Hill Resorts. The views are exceptional; overlooking Lake Winnisquam and Lake Winnipesaukee. There are lots of opportunities for outdoor activities, including an extensive network of hiking trails. Our room was spacious, with all of the amenities including an in-room jacuzzi. The restaurant had a large menu and all of the dishes we ordered were very good. We're looking forward to staying at Steele Hill again this year.
This family resort was a dream for us. The best part was there were plenty of activites that kept our teens active and independent. The staff was warm and welcoming and the restaurant/bar service top notch. A definite repeat on our list. Don't miss this beautiful property!
Great family resort! Perched on a mountain overlooking the lakes region, the pool, golf course, and restaurant kept us busy with no reason to venture off the grounds. Yet, it was a great home base for our touring through the region. Great value for the location and amenities.
We had our Christmas party at Steele Hill this year which was great. A bunch of us ended up renting another couple nights so we could go snowboarding, The resort has discount tickets to Gunstock and Waterville adn I think Loon too. We all got two day passes for cheap which was nice especially right after Christmas. It was a good trp. I'd recommend it!
I just stayed at Steele Hill for the holidays. I live in Brooklyn, NY, but I have a friend that moved to Belmont, NH many years ago and we visit several times a year. I have stayed at Steele hill countless times since she moved up to new england. I have stayed in other hotels too. I have also stayed in most of Steele Hill's rooms. The resort is giant and the accommodations very a a lot. Some rooms are huge and new, other rooms are smaller and older, but obviously less expensive. perhaps it is a personal matter for me since it is my home away from home when my family and I come to visit, but I have always had great experiences at steele hill. It is not to say that I have not had issues on some of my stays, but they were always resolved without any attitude form the staff. Happy and fast always. I do not doubt that the people who wrote negative reviews had problems with their stay, but they really do seem overly harsh if you have ever been to the resort. The resort is more for younger familys with children. THere are stairs and there are tons of things for the children to do. The resort does not charge for use of anything which is unlike many places I have been and they have more than any place I have been. I t certainly is not the ritz, but that is not what I want and anyone who has come to central New hampshire will tell you that it is not really a place for the swanky. It is simple, outdoorsy, beautiful and fun. I think that many of these folks came up to New hampshire for the wrong reasons. Not to mention even that compared to all the other hotels in the area Steele Hill mine as well be the ritz. All of the other hotel accommodations are sub par for a family like mine. Just a little rant I guess, but it really is a truely good place and it is fun. Just a bit of unexpected pride i suppose. thanks for listening.
My family recently visited Steele Hill for a family getaway. It was great, we had lots of sights to see during the day and it was a treat to go back and sit in the hot tub while the kids were in the pool right next to us.....the best of both worlds. The staff was extremely helpful & polite and gave many suggestions for sites that we should visit...Thank you
A superb resort with lovely staff.
You can't get much better than Steele Hill.
We'll be back next year - hopefully
Thank you everyone involved with the running of the whole facility.
Libbaton Golf Club

(also a beautiful place to visit)
First stay at newer condos okay, but the stay in the older units was dirty!
Used sheets and blankets left in a ball in the closet. Rust stained toilet constantly running. Dust covered kitchen. Front desk and restaurant help were very unprofessional. Scenery is not that nice. Not worth the money. There's alot nicer stays closer to the lake. Better views too!
