Dimitri's Pizza & Restaurant, Contoocook

, The food at Dimitri's Pizza & Restaurant, has a standard of EXCELLENCE for the type of restaurant that it is. My husband and I order takeout from Dimitri's AT LEAST once per week. We've had their dinners (FANTASTIC!), pizza (AWESOME!), grinders (are SUPERIOR!), calzones (ARE WORTH THEIR WEIGHT IN GOLD!!! LOL!), not to mention the GREAT salads and appetizers that are on the menu. And they've got ice cream, too! We only get takeout from Dimitri's so I've never met any of the staff, but because my husband picks up our order, he's met them and he says that they're all very friendly, pleasant and are all very nice people. Since I do the ordering for us, I speak with them on the phone and I agree with my husband. In fact, I speak with them often enough that they recognize my voice when I call! According to my husband, the restaurant's atmosphere is relaxed and has a family 'feel' to it. In the warmer weather, there is some outdoor seating that overlooks(?) the river. This is a perfect for place to not only have your dinner, but it's also an excellent spot to sit with the kids (or without them!) and have an ice cream cone or maybe a sundae! Although there isn't much to do here, in the village of Contoocook, it's well worth it to go a few minutes out of the way just to eat at Dimitri's! The food is EXCELLENT, the prices are very reasonable (and competitive with restaurants of the same kind), and the employees are all quite friendly. Just remember: If you want a real treat, get a calzone! Not only is it far beyond fantastic when you first get it, but if you can't eat it all in that first serving, it reheats extremely well in the oven! (Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat on foil-lined pan for 15 - 20 minutes or until hot.) Contoocook may not have much in town, but Dimitri's definitely makes up for it! In a word: YUM!
