Bedford Village Inn
Bedford Village Inn features fresh, regional cuisine in 7 unique dining rooms. The property also features a hip winebar, Corks, and a casual Tavern to fit any dining mood. The restaurant has been a AAA Four Diamond recipient for 18 years; DIRoNA winner since 1996; named Best Restaurant in NH and one of the Top 10 in the US. They offer the largest Wine Cellar in NH, over 8,000 bottles/750 labels and have received the 'Best of Award of Excellence'. All reservations are strictly for the Dining Room. Corks and Tavern are seated on a first come first served basis. Visit our website for complete information.
Be sure to ask how many weddings will there be during your stay. $289 + Tax per night and having to suffer through an additional wedding and hardly getting any sleep is simply way too much money.
Also, they will present you one bill and charge you otherwise on your credit card and there's absolutely nothing you can do, so be sure to pay cash.
I must say I was very disapointed with the service that we had on Dec 8th 2007 we had to wait for our 8pm reservation until almost 8:45 but that was ok as they were very busy but once we were seated I exected good service but it was anything but we ordered drinks and it took forever to get them we had to ask for rolls after placing our order we never saw our server for quite some time we had to ask for refills on water when the food came one of our members didnt have a fork and we couuldnt get the attention of our server to get one we had to ask one of the other waiters for help we ordered a second round of drinks and thought we would never get them in fact I had to call the waiter over and ask what happened to them. I guess I was looking forward to a very nice evening and by the time I left I was exseperated and would never go back. I will say the food was good when it came but the service was terrible and we drove from Boston we should have stayed home
Went to BVI for breakfast. My review is as follows:
Food: Exquisite, fresh, innovative. Quite honestly best breakfast I have ever experienced as far as food quality and atmosphere are concerned.
Price: Very acceptable for the quality of the food.
Hostess: Unpleasant, rude, I was horrified with the treatment given to my guests upon their entry into the breakfast room. This was utterly unacceptable.
BVI would have received a 5 star overall rating from me had the Hostess not been so utterly, horrifyingly rude.
Having lived in Bedford for three years; I was looking forward to a night out with my family for my birthday. Usually we go to Boston; but the Inn had good reviews. Unfortunately, our night was a disaster. We made reservations for 7:30pm and did not get seated until 8:45pm in a cramped room upstairs. No one every cleaned under the table where we found a xmas card for over $100; which we gave to the receptionist. Food was mediocre and selection was limited and not worth the price tag. Would not
recommend; nor go back.
Inn was decorated beautiful though for the holidays.
We purchased a package that was supposed to provide afternoon tea, dinner in the restaurant, a suite for the night and breakfast the next day. The staff was poorly trained and told us some of the services and accommodations that were listed for the package just weren't available to us once we arrived. We couldn't have the room we requested for the night or the dining rooms we requested in the restaurant. The Inn and the restaurant are very quick to bump other paying guests to accommodate larger parties and functions and have no qualms telling you that their larger parties take precedent. This is, no doubt, a business decision, but they need to find a way to stop breaking promises and agreements to guests that are paying premium rates for their undeserved reputation and service that would be unsatisfactory even at a much lesser price. The food was very good in the restaurant and the wine list was impressive, but the wait staff definitely left much to be desired. The misadventures we experienced in about 18 hours are really too numerous to spell out in a quick review. This establishment places snobbish values on its awards and gives short shrift to its guests. They've got this upside down and sooner or later they'll stop receiving awards for how good they once were. Then they will have no more guests that will buy into how great they think they are.
The Bedford Village Inn has a lot more to offer than merely a place to stay. Each of the suites
is uniquely and tastefully decorated with the charm that runs throughout the Inn. Once a farmhouse, the Inn now ...
