used to love going to la carreta, the drinks and the salsa are yummy. But the past few times, the service was awful. Slow and rude. We actually got rolled eyes when we asked for refill of drinks for the second time-we had waited 15 minutes. So I decided to give them one more chance and i ordered food for pickup. spent over 50 dollars. Got home and half the order was wrong. Ordered couple of childrens plates and got home to find the tacos were missing so all they had was rice and beans. I had ordered one extra side of rice and beans and recieved a side order of rice and a side order of beans. Charged for what i actually ordered and the two wrong sides. My entree was also the wrong one, although it was correctly labelled on top. I have been disappointed for the last time. I know I could have called and gotten the food replaced, hopefully, but to pack up the kids and the dinners again to bring back was just not worth it.
great for family or date (great margueritas). very consistent. great chips and salsa. really happy to find a restaurant like this in new England..... Priced reasonably (what you expect for Mexican food)
Nice atmosphere. The food was very good although not quite as spicy as I would have liked. Did think the quacamole salad was a bit overpriced for the portion of quacamole served otherwise I think the prices are overall very reasonable.
This is a really nice restaurant with fairly authentic mexican food. We also get a very good value in their weekday (except sunday) lunch menu.
My son loves their quasadilla which is quite tasty with their mix of cheeses.
Driving by the place, we noticed this little Mexican Restaurant in a small strip mall. We decided to check it out and haven't looked back since. Now when we head out to eat, this is the place we go.
The food is great! Of course, this is obvious: that is why we keep going back. We like the more authentic Mexican flavor. Having servers that speak Mexican/Spanish also helps to add to the experience. We lived in Salt Lake City and ate at a restaurant (La Frontera) that was owned and operated by people from Mexico and it really spoiled us. La Carreta really fits in nicely!
There is nothing on the menu I dislike but I favor the enchilatas. Try the Flan for dessert. It is also a favorite!
I recommend getting there early. It is a favorite of many!
I understand there is another in Nashua, but I haven't been. I have been told it is just as good!
The only thing we dislike is sitting right outside the bar. I don't enjoy hearing the music in the bar and the overhead music at the same time. I would like one or the other!
