Let's see....It was a place I always wanted to try because I prefer locally owned over the chain restaurants...but that is usually hit or miss...this was a miss...I went last week for lunch...got the 16 oz T-bone steak...I believe the cost was around $19...I was surprised that I was not offered rolls or bread before the meal or a salad to go with the meal...it came undercooked then came back overcooked and the potato wedges (fries or wedges were the only options) were overcooked from the start and there was no other vegetable with the meal....I wanted to say something to the bartender or hostess before I left but neither were in sight...I believe there are better options in the area and your money would be better spent elsewhere...
Arrived in town and needed a place to have lunch until our hotel room was ready. We stumbled upon the Country Tavern and couldn't have been happier. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed our lunch and a sample of the cajun seafood chowder. We LOVED the chowder!!!! Just a bit of spice and an amazing taste. Nashua...you are lucky to have this little gem in town!!!
Our waitress was very friendly, we had great service and the food was decent but not quite up to par with the prices they charge.
The atmosphere was cozy and basic.
NOTE: They do not give free soft drink refills. We received a check with multiple soft drink charges on it. We nicely asked the waitress if we could please speak with the manager, he (maybe he was the owner?) came over belligerent and told us this is how they have been doing business for over 16 years . They should try placing the soft drink prices and their policy on the food menu; it was not there. There are plenty of nicer places around the Nashua area (with the same price entrees) whose managers treat their customers more respectfully; we will never go back there due to his arrogance.
Went for the Sunday brunch and I was delightfully surprised. Although the basic brunch might not have been worth the money, The four dollar add-on definitely made it worth it. The made-to -order food was very delicious, hot And a good sized portion. The service was very good --professional and timely. I will definitely refer this brunch to my friends.
