Michael Timothy's Bistro, Nashua

I just went there tonight with my wife for our anniversery. Drinks were good, wait staff was nice, decor was nice, salad and bread was great! BUT they don't know how to cook a steak. If you get their signature bacon, cheese, tomato and steak tips dish then you are ok. I got the sirloin special and asked for medium, it was raw. Then they tried to fix it, it was cooked well done. They didn't comp the steak but gave us free deserts, you guess what was cheaper for them...bad business decision!!! I won't be back.

Wow. We had been to Michael Timothy's once before and knew we had to go back. We were in Nashua this weekend so I was looking forward to Sunday evening dinner there. The experience far exceeded my expectations. We started with an appetizer called Carmelized Scallop Nachos. The curiosity alone would have made it good pick, and it was great. 5 nachos, each with a nice scallop, perfectly cooked and excellent presentation. My wife likes few wines, but loves a good German riesling and they had an excellent one. I chose a bordeaux that was very good and both were very healthy poors for reasonable price. We both selected the beef tournedos and were blown away at the craft of the dish. It had a very healthy portion of pancetta that blended well with the grilled tomatoe and the reduction. We like our beef med-well, but these were still juicy and delicious. The spinach hollandaise sauce was complementary, neither overpowering nor bland. Brocolli was perfectly cooked. And a tower of seasoned mashed potatoes was perfect to clean up every drop of sauce and gravy. Two breads accompanied the meal -- the darker with cinnamon and cranberries (or maybe currants?) was very good. The table next to us ordered the soft chocolate cake with cream and strawberries for desert and it looked awesome. Unfortunately, it was a little disappointing. Nice presentation, and tasted good, but it simply wasn't as well crafted as the rest of the meal. The staff was very professional; such a treat compared to the casual youngsters of most small town restaurants. These are people who know what is expected in a great restaurant. Michael Timothy's is a gem. If you are in Nashua, stop in for a great meal in a cozy, artful room. Highly recommended.

excellent food and atmosphere

We had a retirement celebration on a Sunday morning for brunch for 18 of us. We found the food excellent and the service very attentive and accomodating. I will most certainly go back.

Big city quality in Nashua. Fantastic food & wine, well worth the price. One of my favorites of all time. Always consistent and well prepared. Beef tournedos, mignon, appetizers and seasonal entrees. Hint: make a reservation but ask for a wall or window table, the center can feel a little busy.

food and wine. Service is delightful with knowledgable and polished servers. I have never had a meal there I didn't love. Ambiance is pleasant bistro like and my only complaint is that it can be very noisy. Go early or you might have a long wait. Save room for dessert...they are the best around.

A very comfortable atmosphere enjoyed the time spent there was nice to find a place in local distance that displayed the very evenings we all search for with that special person in our lives !!

I absolutely love Michael Timothy's- it's an amazing place to go. The only con I have is there is the lack of parking-otherwise it is one of the best spots in Nashua to get together with friends!

I beg to differ... This is by far one the BEST places Nashua has to offer. Michael Timothy's is one of my favorite restaurants. Owner Michael Buckley (who is also part owner of Surf) has created a simple yet sophisticated menu of bold flavors, with impeccable food & wine pairings. Dubbed as a Bistro, Michael Timothy's has a menu that is easy to read and easy to order from. With dishes that include your typical chicken and beef, don't let it fool you� Michael knows EXACTLY how to get those taste buds dancing. Although some people may find Michael Timothy's a bit pricy, it is certainly warranted. The food is spectacular and the ambiance is romantic and relaxing. Along with great food, great wine, and great service, Michael Timothy's regularly has live jazz. So after desert, you can grab a glass of wine in the win bar and listen to some jazz while conversing. If you get the chance, definitely check this place out.
