My wife and I used to go to Florence's regularly. Great food, great people, Florence always said hello to all her guests. We even suggested it for our daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner. We went in and spoke with Florence about reserving their function room months ago and were assured that there would be no problem. We left thinking this was all arrnaged.
Today, 16 days before her wedding, my daughter went to finalize plans with Florence's and was told the room had been double booked and her party would have to be in the main dining room. She spent money on printing the menu selection she had chosen, directions, the whole works. Then this.
Is this one of the worst things a business can do? I think so.
Florence, you'll NEVER see us in your place again. And if we have anything to do with it none of our friends or acquaintences will visit, either.
I love this restaurant. Their food is wonderful. If you're a purist for good tomato sauce, this is the place. Their bolognese is great, too. Good bread, good homemade salad dressings, good drinks. And, the owner Flo is a real kick -- irreverent, funny, and very hospitable. She makes sure you're well taken care of.
My Daughter and her husband live in Merrimack, NH. Several years ago they suggested Florence's Restaurant. Being used to only the Best Italian Food, I was a bit skeptical. Well I have been back 6 times since my first visit. Florence has been there each time and I have always been very happy with the meals served. The decor in the restaurant seating area is a bit of a cliche with the checkered table cloths. That is the only negative thing I have to say. The food is freshly prepared and the service is prompt and accomodating.
The veal dish that I had was excellent as usual. The canolis are homemade and the best outside of Boston.
A local Newspaper did not give Florence's a good rating. The critic must have either an uneducated palate or dead taste buds.
Florence keep up the good work. The locals know better

Our family was in Merrimack NH recently to visit and we were looking for a place to eat. My nephew was with us and he suggested that we go to Florences.
Being from the NYC/NJ area, we have many fine Italian restaurants but Florence's is by far the best ever. The service was great and Florence was sure to stop by and say hello. Each of my 3 children raved about the food. The meal came with a salad which everyone enjoyed. I'm not the type of person to write about a meal but I had to since everyone enjoyed it so much. In our family, when someone has a birthday, they get to choose the restaurant to go to. My kids 16, 15, 12 have already told me that they are willing to sit in the car for 6 hours each way to go back to Florence's. That's how much they loved the food.
Had never eaten here before, but decided to try some take out one night. We ordered a shrimp scampi, chicken alfredo and some ravioli....to grab some safe and standard items. This ran us about $50-$60. Each dinner came with salad. I was a little weary because of the price of the food, however when we finished eating at home, it was simply brilliant! Every detail was top flight, the dressing on the salad was among the best I have ever tasted...the pasta was perfectly done and I don't even have words for it. This is the best italian in the area in my opinion. For take out the service was kind of rough, but I would expect it would be better dining in. Nicely accessible location with plenty of parking and it seemed to be well decorated and people were enjoying themselves. Highly recommended!
