Description

Pakarang is conveniently located on the edge of downtown Providence at the bottom of College Hill. It is also part of a small group of restaurants that deliver, for an additional fee. Exotic dishes such as Dancing Squid, Tamarind Duck, Shrimp Himaparn and Tiger's Tear Salad (with steak) are on the menu, along with more familiar Thai dishes like Pad Thai and Red Curry. This is a good spot for a meal when planning a day or night in Providence.

Good basic Thai restaurant for a town that is lacking in Thai. I agree Sawaddee is better, but it only has about 5 tables. Pkarang has a comparable menu and is reliable. I've had pretty good luck there.

If I had the money I'd go there every day.

The food was fabulous, the ambiance somewhat fancy though comfortable and the service was amazing. Entrees range in price $10 and up. Yum. I'm trying to come up with an excuse to celebrate so I can go back and eat the salmon green curry again.

Favorite Place to Eat with Friends!

The service is delightfully friendly. There is a good selection on the menu, the food is delicious and it is resonablly priced. I really like the beautiful fish tanks set up in the entrance.

I have gone to most Thai restaurants in Boston, New York and Washington. I am a frequent visitor to Pakarang. Dont miss their fried ice cream and their chicken satay!

Try their "Pad Thai, Homestyle duck, Siam bbq chicken". I'm lovin it!

Personally, I love spicy food and Thai food seems to match my style. This place is the 1st choice I'd think about when I want to juice my mouth. Not everything is spicy but just tell the waiter(s) how do you like the taste of your meal. Grilled (satay) chicken and beef are the very good starter.

I agree that this is a great place to eat, if you are going for the exotic or the plain. My absolute favorite is Pad Thai, and Pakarang's is amazing.
