Mr Taco, West Warwick

Mr. Taco is under new ownership and has vastly improved. I stopped in there on sunday afternoon with my wife and mother and felt like I was at home. Our server was excellent and knew what he was talking about. There was two waiters when we walked in, we were sat immediatly and had drinks on the table within 1 minute and appetizer came out in 6. Nick and Keith were more than helpful and know how to do their job. We had wings of fire and burittos and were completly satisfied with our meal. Sure the food may taste a little different but that is what happens when you get fresh ingredients not frozen or processed. We have been dining here for 10 years. We have seen three owners and we personally think it is the best it has ever been. We asked about the name change and Keith explained to us that it was under new ownership and is undergoing changes. All food places have negative reviews but if you listen to them about this place you will miss out on the best Mexican food in R.I. hands down. To the Cain family good luck and keep up the great work. BTW The new Name Margarita is clever and unique.

Have been going to Mr. Taco for over 20 years. Went for the first time since the new owners have taken over and was completely disappointed. Only 4 tables of people in the restaurant and had to wait over 20 minutes for our order to be taken. No more combo plates. You have to order everything a la carte at twice the price. My favorite side of mexican corn now tastes like it came out of a can. My husband's favorite side of mexican rice is now Minute Rice with some spice and cheese. Not a pepper to be seen. And our favorite of all time the wings of fire were completely overcooked. Looks like I won't be ordering those for our Christmas party this year, nor will we be back to dine there with the horrible service they have now

BTW, there were one or two owners since Kay retired. However she pops in from time to time. Now there are NEW owners and the wait staff is very happy with them. This restaurant is fabulous. My husband has had dinner here for many years (20+ years). Now we go there with our children. The new owners are on-site and are very pleasant. We met on Cinco De Mayo so we have been dining here on May 5th since 1996!! They have reasonable prices, great Sangria and the wait staff is fabulous. We also ask for our favorites!!

Some things changed over the last couple years, but with the wonderful insights from Kay, and our own ideas and menu specials (adding to, not replacing items….and no price increases), we want to make your experience memorable. Don't listen to these negitive reviews. Mr. Taco is the best if you like authentic mexican food. I'm from California where the mexican food is the same as eating it in mexico and Mr. Taco is the closest you can get to that on the East Coast. Of course that's because the original owners of Mr. Taco brought their influence from CA. I'm not related to anyone from Mr. Taco and I don't even know anyone affiliated there so I am not influenced by them. This place is really the best when it comes to mexican and the prices are still a great deal considering the portions are HUGE!

Very disappointed since the new owners have arrived. The food is cold sometimes, the atmosphere is not as friendly and the prices have increased. Little by little. WE MISS KAY, and of course DAVID! Hope to find another restaurant that is simular to what this place used to be. Used to go there for the last 20years. We live Warwick

I went to Mr Taco and it was great food for a grat price. I mean a stacked enchalada u could feed 3 people on this thing. Kareoke night was on thursday and with the free buffet theres plenty of extra cash to spend on drinks. Girls singing on stage and plenty of people watching the game and having fun. I came in on sunday to watch the Patriots and free chips and half off appitizers that last game 59 to 0 that was great. Try it once and youll be back every week

These new owners are nothing like DAVID, that founded the place. The prices are going up, they advertised that they have websites, .........OH Yes, where are they on the internet??? Hummmmmm What is happening to this place???????????????????

You cannot beat the authenticity, atmosphere, and prices at Mr Taco. Do yourself a favor next time you're in the mood for Mexican food--take a trip to Mr Taco! Don't skimp on the appetizers; they are delicious, but don't fill up on them either because the meal portions are huge. Plan on having Mexican for the next 2 nights! 2 thumbs up (3 if I were an alien!). Mr Taco rocks!
